A closer look at the Audit Department

The Audit Department consists of 4 people. Its members’ mission is to promote the principles of transparency and integrity of Première Urgence Internationale.

And what about the Donor Audit and Internal Control Officer in all of this?

As Donor Audit and Internal Control Officer, you will coordinate the preparation and follow-up of external and internal audits of the organization. You will ensure compliance with procedures and conduct control missions at headquarters and in the field.

For this purpose, your responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Preparation and follow-up of external audits: You will organize, plan, and coordinate external audits. You will be the primary contact for auditors and headquarters staff, and you will centralize the requested documents and information. You will be the focal point and liaison between donors and the various departments.
  • Coordination and preparation of internal audits: You will adapt the internal control framework to the needs of the missions. You will develop assessment, analysis, and monitoring tools to improve internal control. You will define and execute an annual internal audit plan.
  • Conducting audits within the structure: You will be in charge of preparing the visit, you will carry out a check of compliance with procedures on site and you will write a summary report (analysis, malfunctions and recommendations).
  • Training and capitalization: You will contribute to the initial training of expatriate and headquarters staff.

The challenges that await you:

A busy period in terms of external audits. Knowledge of the rules of different donors regarding audits (USAID, SIDA, AFD, EuropeAid, CDCS, etc.). Understanding of different contexts. Resumption of internal audits within the organization.

What you will need to succeed

  • Education: You can demonstrate initial training in auditing, management, finance and/or accounting.
  • Experience: You have at least one year of experience in a similar role at the headquarters of an international humanitarian NGO, and you have experience in internal auditing. Are you familiar with the regulations of major institutional donors? This will be highly valued. Have you previously worked with Première Urgence Internationale? This will be a definite asset!
  • Skills: Do you have a passion for training and supporting teams in the field? This position is for you! Are you proficient in SAGA software? That’s a key asset!
  • Required qualities: You demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and enjoy working in a team. You are reliable and responsible, rigorous and organized, responsive and adaptable. You have excellent stress resistance and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Languages: Do you speak fluent French and English? This is essential for this position!

PUI will offer you

  • Status: Executive
  • Salary: 3200 EUR gross per month over 12 months
  • Medical coverage : 80% of the Health and Welfare insurance
  • Coverage: Coverage of 50% of the transport ticket and 60% of Restaurant Vouchers (with a face value of €9)
  • Rest: 5 weeks of paid leave per year + 1 RTT day per month (37 hours/week)
