SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid organization that, for over 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflict and natural disasters by addressing their vital needs: water, food, and shelter. Particularly committed to combating diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death worldwide, SI implements its interventions with expertise in the areas of access to drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene promotion, as well as in the essential areas of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, SI’s teams—a total of 3,200 people including expatriates, national staff, headquarters staff, and a few volunteers—operate with professionalism and dedication, respecting local cultures.
The mission
Solidarités International opened in late 2018 to respond to the urgent needs of people displaced by the security crisis that initially struck the Sahel and North-Central regions of Burkina Faso. By 2024, Solidarités International’s humanitarian footprint had expanded with operations in the North-Central, North, Sahel, and Boucle du Mouhoun regions.
By 2025, the country office comprised a coordination office in Ouagadougou, two field offices, a Grand Nord base in Ouahigouya (North region) which covers a sub-base in Kongoussi (North-Central region), and operations also in the Boucle du Mouhoun region, including an office in Tougan; and a Sahel base in Dori which covers the sub-bases in Djibo and Sebba.
SI has diversified its portfolio of interventions to address both the vital WASH, shelter, and food needs of populations recently displaced by the conflict (RRM mechanism and other emergency interventions) and the impact of the conflict on access to public WASH services and livelihoods, also integrating institutional strengthening and social cohesion issues.
Most projects are implemented in consortia with INGOs, and some projects with local partners.
SI is part of several consortia, such as: RRM-Frontline (with ACF as lead), and the Integrated Multisectoral Response for Health, Nutrition, WASH, and SAME in Yagha (PUI, consortium lead).
The Burkina Faso mission has a budget of €4 million, primarily funded by ECHO. Activities are implemented with a local partner, SOLIDEV, and AFDR.
In September 2026, the mission is composed of:
– 1 Coordination office in Ouagadougou: 3 expatriates (Logistics Coordinator, Grants Coordinator, Grants Manager, HULO Country Coordinator) and 50 national staff including the Country Director, the Deputy Country Director for Programs; the Compliance, Risk and Transparency Manager; the Local Partnerships Manager; the HR and Admin Coordinators; the WASH Cluster Lead Coordinator; the WASH Coordinator; the SAME Coordinator; the SERA Coordinator; and the deputies of each department
– 2 bases composed of 1 expatriate and approximately 60 national staff.
The Grants team is based at the coordination office in Ouagadougou and consists of 3 people: Grants and Partnerships Coordinator, Grants Manager and Local Partnerships Manager.
The BFA coordination supports the Mali mission, which consists of a coordination unit and a base (a zone coordination unit).
Description of the offer
GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
The Grants and Partnerships Coordinator leads the mission’s partnership and financial strategy. They ensure interdepartmental coordination and provide strategic support on donor relations, the contract cycle, implementation partnerships, compliance, and accountability. They manage a local Partnership Manager and an expatriate Grant Manager, working closely with the Country Director.
SPECIFIC ISSUES AND CHALLENGES:
- Managing a large volume of projects and landlord contracts (6 in progress);
- Strengthening internal reporting and the capacities of RP/RA, particularly on APU and PROG/SERA coordination;
- Implementation of reporting training in the capital and at bases, depending on the security context;
- Strengthening partnership management: capacity building plans, pre-assessment of partners and maintenance of the Partnership Manager position;
- Strengthening risk management, audits and donor accountability with a dedicated resource;
- Support for the MALI mission.
PRIORITIES FOR THE FIRST 2-3 MONTHS:
Donor relations:
Map donors, monitor funding opportunities and maintain regular communication with donors.
Funding strategy:
Coordinate funding needs between mission and headquarters, contribute to the financial and partnership strategy and monitor associated action plans.
Project document development:
Coordinate departments in preparing proposals, reports and requests for contractual changes, ensuring their quality.
Contract management:
Verify the feasibility of contractual terms, ensure compliance with donor procedures, strengthen team capacities and follow up on payment requests until the closure of grants, with the financial coordinator.
Managing implementation partnerships:
Identify partners, oversee due diligence and contracting, and ensure coordination with them.
External Compliance and Audits:
Coordinate due diligence and external audits, conduct training on donor procedures and liaise with departments and headquarters.
External communication:
Transmit to the headquarters communications department the content that complies with contractual obligations.
SECURITY CONSTRAINTS:
Traffic restrictions apply in certain areas and neighborhoods. The position includes shared guest accommodation with water, electricity, and internet. Canal+ and household staff (cleaner and cook) are also available.

DEGREE AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications: Bac + 4/5 in Political Science, International Relations, International Development or equivalent.
- Experience in the humanitarian sector: + 5 years
- Experience in a similar role: 3-4 years

SI will offer you the following conditions
A salaried position: Depending on experience, starting from EUR 2860 gross per month (2600 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 550.
SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate’s home country and the place of assignment.
Breaks: During the mission, a system of alternating work and leave is in place, with 7 working days off every three months (with USD 850 allocated by Solidarités International). In addition to these break periods, one extra day of leave is granted for each month worked.
Social and medical coverage: Expatriates benefit from insurance that reimburses all healthcare costs (including medical and surgical fees, dental and ophthalmological care, and repatriation) and a supplementary benefits system that includes war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are reimbursed.
LIVING CONDITIONS:
Ouagadougou is the capital and largest city of Burkina Faso. Life there is pleasant, with numerous restaurants and entertainment venues. The cultural scene is vibrant.
Expatriates are not permitted to drive their own vehicles.
The city enjoys excellent telephone and internet coverage with several providers.
