SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid organization that, for over 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflict and natural disasters by addressing their vital needs: water, food, and shelter. Particularly committed to combating diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death worldwide, SI implements its interventions with expertise in the areas of access to drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene promotion, as well as in the essential areas of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, SI’s teams—a total of 3,200 people including expatriates, national staff, headquarters staff, and a few volunteers—operate with professionalism and dedication, respecting local cultures.
The mission
SI has been present in Chad since 2008, in Cameroon since 2017 and in the Central African Republic since 2014. The Chad and Cameroon missions merged in 2021 and the Central African Republic joined this merger in 2025.
The Chad-Cameroon-Central African Republic (TCA) multi-country mission comprises 11 bases/sub-bases in total. In Cameroon: 1 mission coordination base in Yaoundé and 1 operational base in Maroua in the Far North, as well as a sub-base in Makary. In Chad: 1 Chad zone coordination office in N’Djamena, and 3 operational bases in Baga Sola in the Lac province, and Adré and Iriba in the East of the country. In the Central African Republic: 1 CAR zone coordination office in Bangui, and 2 operational bases in Markounda in the Northwest and Bouar in the West, as well as a base currently being established in Haut-Mbomou in the Southeast.
In Cameroon: 3 projects. In the Far North, SI is part of a disaster risk reduction (DRR) consortium where it implements an emergency income-generating activities (IGA) response, recovery and development activities in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector (rehabilitation/construction of water points and hygiene promotion) and in Food Security and Livelihoods (VSLAs, support for agricultural groups, construction of irrigation infrastructure; agricultural ponds), as well as disaster risk reduction activities in collaboration with local authorities. Donors: DG ECHO, CDCS, AFD, EU / Partner: PUI, Tammounde Speranza
In Chad: 7 projects. In the Lac province, SI strengthened its operations by providing emergency humanitarian assistance in food security, livelihoods, improved access to WASH services, and support for agricultural practices. SI is also implementing a cholera response project. Donors: DG ECHO, SIDA / Partner: ACHUDE. In eastern Chad, SI’s response focused on improving access to safe drinking water, sanitation services, and improved hygiene for Sudanese refugees and Chadian populations to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases. Emergency assistance in response to the cholera outbreak was also implemented by the teams in the second half of 2025. Donors: CDCS, SDC, FH, DG ECHO. / Partner: PUI, IMC, NIRVANA
In the Central African Republic: 4 projects. In Markounda, in the Northwest, SI provides emergency and recovery assistance in the following sectors: WASH (construction and rehabilitation of water points and latrines, distribution of WASH kits, hygiene promotion, and sustainable water resource management), Food Security and Livelihoods (emergency food assistance and economic and agricultural recovery), and Shelter and Essential Household Items. In Bouar, in the west, SI is implementing a large-scale, multi-year development project in the WASH sector across three regions. This project aims to improve access to water services through the construction of numerous handwashing stations and drinking water supply networks, and by supporting technical services for the sustainable management of the public water infrastructure. Donors: AFD / Partners: WFG and I3D.
In Haut-Mbomou, SI is launching its first emergency response intervention to the Ebola outbreak and aims to expand its activities and funding in the area. Donor: SDC
Job description
General objective
The overall objective of this position is to lead the Grants and Partnerships strategy for the TCA mission and ensure the quality, compliance, and development of the funding portfolio. Supporting the Country Director and coordinating with the program and support teams, the Grants and Partnerships Coordinator oversees contract management, proposal and report development, donor engagement strengthening, and the structuring of grant processes. They also manage the Grants team and contribute to partnership development and the mission’s external representation.
Main Challenges:
Multi-country and diverse intervention contexts require a high degree of adaptability and a thorough understanding of the specificities of each context.
A large portfolio of projects and donors, with varying timelines, contractual requirements, objectives, indicators, and reporting methods, necessitates close monitoring and excellent organizational skills.
A heavy workload and numerous simultaneous deadlines, particularly for project proposals and donor reports, sometimes with very tight deadlines.
Variable quality of information and deliverables produced by the databases, requiring support and capacity building for the teams to improve the quality of initial versions.
Constrained funding and the need for diversification necessitate the continuous development of new opportunities with existing and new donors.
Management of a Grants team of three expatriates under direct supervision: a Grant Manager, a Reporting and Communication Officer, and a second Grant Manager currently deployed on a temporary basis for three months until the end of the year, with the possibility of making the position permanent subject to funding.
Priorities for the first 2-3 months:
Taking ownership of the Grants portfolio and key contracts, including a review of deadlines, contractual obligations, risks, and priorities by project/donor.
In line with the previous point, establishing contact with Grant counterparts in direct partner organizations and with donors funding our projects.
Preparing and anticipating ECHO feedback following the submission of at least four HIPs by December 1, 2026 (feedback expected in the first quarter of 2027).
Establishing contact with NGO partners and consolidating the monitoring of their capacity-building plans.
Taking ownership of the mission’s communication strategy and developing a plan to monitor its implementation.

Formation :
Master’s degree (5 years of higher education) in humanitarian project management; international relations; public policy; or any other relevant field

SI will offer you the following conditions
A salaried position: Depending on experience, starting from EUR 2860 gross per month (2600 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 600.
SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate’s home country and the place of assignment.
Breaks: During the mission, a system of alternating work and leave is in place, with 7 working days off every three months (with USD 850 allocated by Solidarités International). In addition to these break periods, one extra day of leave is granted for each month worked.
Social and medical coverage: Expatriates benefit from insurance that reimburses all healthcare costs (including medical and surgical fees, dental and ophthalmological care, and repatriation) and a supplementary benefits system that includes war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are reimbursed.
LIVING CONDITIONS:
Accommodation in a guesthouse. Living conditions in Yaoundé are very pleasant, with numerous restaurants, bars, and cultural or sporting activities available.
It is possible to walk around the city (the main risk being theft) except after nightfall.
SECURITY CONSTRAINTS:
Multi-country and diverse intervention contexts with strong and specific security and access constraints in each area
Far North Cameroon: Level 3. High presence of non-state armed groups perpetrating daily attacks and abuses (JAS and ISWAP), frequent flooding limiting access, risk of epidemics (cholera).
Eastern Chad: Level 3. Risk of the Sudanese conflict spilling over into Chadian territory, increasingly frequent road robberies, risk of epidemics (cholera), poor road infrastructure.
Lake Chad: Level 3; risk of deteriorating security situation at the lake (JAS – Boko Haram threat), frequent flooding limiting access, risk of epidemics (cholera), poor road infrastructure
RCA Markounda and Bouar; Level 3. Numerous non-state armed and criminal groups perpetrate highway robberies, poor road infrastructure, and inclement weather limit access.
