AVSI Foundation is a third-sector organization that, through development cooperation projects in 41 countries across a variety of sectors, strives to create a world where people are the protagonists of their own and their communities’ human journey in all contexts. AVSI employs approximately 2,000 people, implementing over 300 projects that reach 4 million people.

The successful candidate will work within the Partnership Compliance (DPRP) unit, part of the Business Development and Projects Department (DPRG). The DPRG ensures AVSI’s strategic positioning with key national and international institutional donors by defining and guiding project strategies, policies, and procedures. This includes developing and overseeing the entire project development cycle in collaboration with regional and country programs, ensuring consistency with donor priorities and trends.
Within the DPRG, the Compliance Unit (DPRP) is responsible for supporting the organization in the project design process, ensuring each proposal is submitted in accordance with donor requirements and internal guidelines. Starting with the research and selection of funding opportunities, the unit identifies the calls for proposals most aligned with AVSI’s mission and the operational priorities of the various countries, making them available through the Microsoft Dynamics 365 system.
Compliance conducts an in-depth analysis of the call for proposals’ guidelines and requirements, supporting the project teams in preparing proposals. She also prepares all required compliance documentation for each project, involving the relevant departments and collaborating on the final review and submission of the proposal.

Main responsibilities

1. Design support:

  • Research and disseminate funding opportunities from institutional donors to project teams via the Dynamics platform;
  • Compliance management for projects in preparation, calls for proposals – tenders, competitions, and calls for proposals from institutional and private donors;
  • Submission of institutional or private projects via online portals/email;
  • Preparation of due diligence requests from specific donors;
  • Management and updating of AVSI accounts on various donor portals.

2. Project management support:

  • Preparation of pre-contractual documentation and management of correspondence with institutional donors;
  • Organization of post-approval meetings of funded projects, with involvement of local offices and HQ departments and archiving of material on Dynamics.

3. AVSI database:

  • Support in managing and updating the Dynamics database (a tool used for designing and archiving data relating to proposals and projects) and the user guide;
  • Training and coaching support for Dynamics users in Italy and other countries;
  • Coordination and control of proposal data processed on the Dynamics system;
  • Publication on the internal company platform (Intranet) of specific updates dedicated to the approval of new projects and statistics on funding calls.

4. Support activities for the DPRG:

  • Support in preparing the dossiers required for the annual renewal of the ISO quality certification for design;
  • Support for new resources in the DPRG Unit (Universal Civil Service, internship);
  • Other miscellaneous requests from the Business Development & Projects Department team and from country staff.

Essential requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferably in linguistics, political science, international cooperation)
  • Experience: At least 6 months of work/internship/civil service in compliance or similar fields for International Cooperation
  • Fluent written and spoken English; knowledge of a second language (French or Spanish) is an added value.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office package
