1 Service Description
1.1 Bread for the World
Bread for the World is the worldwide aid organization of the regional and free Protestant churches in Germany. In more than 80 countries, it helps poor and marginalized people improve their living conditions through their own efforts. Bread for the World’s work focuses on food security, promoting education and health, access to water, strengthening democracy, respect for human rights, ensuring peace, and preserving creation. Through outreach, public relations, and educational activities in Germany and Europe, Bread for the World seeks to influence political decisions for the benefit of marginalized people and raise awareness of the need for sustainable living and business.
Bread for the World contributes financially, staff contributions, expert advice, and grants to churches, Christian organizations, and other private sponsors around the world who are involved in building a just society, campaign against discrimination based on origin, gender, and religious affiliation, and assist people around the world who live in need and poverty, whose dignity and human rights are violated, or who are currently threatened or affected by war or other disasters.

Through our Regional Office for Central America (ORCA) in San José, Costa Rica, we support around 50 projects of more than 40 partner organizations from Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica through financial support, staffing, and consulting. In terms of financial support, this includes dialogue on project proposals, support in the financial management of funds, and monitoring and evaluation through project officers.
In addition, support is provided through thematic and administrative advice and training provided by external consultants and through cooperating partners (internal advisors) on specific topics: advocacy and political dialogue, capacity building with a focus on Food for the World standards, and other topics of common interest to our partners.

1.2 Background

The Alternatives and Opportunities organization has asked Brot fuer die Welt for support in this consultancy.

Alternatives and Opportunities (AyO) was founded on February 1, 1990, and obtained Legal Entity No. 154-96. AyO serves children and young mothers, fathers, community leaders, workers in the capital’s markets, and vulnerable communities.

Despite having a history of more than 35 years of service to children, youth, and the most vulnerable communities, Alternativas y Oportunidades faces the challenge of limited institutional visibility. The organization is recognized primarily in the communities where its projects are implemented, but it lacks a website that highlights its work and allows for broader projection of its impact, nor does it have an institutional email address. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to develop a digital platform that strengthens its public presence and disseminates the scope of its mission. It is also essential to create other platforms or social networks where the organization can have a presence, and to create institutional email addresses.

1.3 Objective of the assignment
Strengthen the visibility and communication capabilities of Alternatives and Opportunities, through visibility and positioning strategies that guarantee the optimization, permanence and long-term projection of the organization.

1. Design an institutional website for Alternatives and Opportunities with its own domain and access to at least 10 institutional email addresses for staff.
2. Facilitate two training workshops in Tegucigalpa for the technical team (15 people): one on the use and maintenance of the website and emails, and another workshop on the use of social media and improving digital presence.
3. Submit a technical report on the request.

1.3.1 Activities to be carried out
Digital presence
1. Comprehensively design the institutional website.
2. Improve the digital presence on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, by creating each of the networks to introduce AyO staff on their use with special emphasis on Tik Tok. (It is expected that during the instruction workshop for these tools, at least two videos can be generated to improve presence on Tik-tok).

Training:
To train 15 members of the Alternatives and Opportunities technical team in person on how to use the website and social media, as well as how to maximize their social media presence.
** The consultation does not include refreshments or food for the workshop. Only the materials and other requirements for the training workshop are included.

1.3.2 Invoicing and Payment Method
Contractor Invoicing: The contractor must issue complete and accurate invoices, including:
• Name, address, and bank details.
• Invoice addressed to the Association of Evangelical Work for Diaconate and Development (AOEDD), with all contact information provided.
• Tax identification number: 3013542415 (and activity code in Costa Rica, if applicable).
• Date of issue, invoice number, and clear reference to the corresponding contract/project.
• Detailed description of the services provided, dates, and amounts in US dollars (USD).
• Details of previous partial or advance payments, if any.
• Attach, upon request, an English translation and any other related documents.
• Retain receipts for at least 10 years.
• Payments by the Client .
The Client makes payments to the bank account specified in the agreement, always in US dollars (USD).
The contractor must confirm receipt of payment in writing and attach a copy of the bank receipt.
Advance Payment:
An advance of up to 40% of the total contract amount may be requested upon written request and an action plan, subject to the Client’s approval.
Final payment will be made upon satisfactory delivery of all agreed-upon services and upon presentation of the invoice/final bill and proof of completed service.

Taxes
Invoices must comply with tax requirements and all tax-related information must be included in accordance with current legislation.

Additional Conditions:
Any conditions not covered in this summary will be established in the Terms of Reference or the Consulting Agreement, as applicable.
The consultant must submit a descriptive report of the activities performed, which must be reviewed by the director of the Alternatives and Opportunities organization and approved by ORCA for the first, second, and third payments to be made.

1.3.3 Place of execution/Travel
Work Direction: The training should be developed in the AyO Offices in the Department of Francisco Morazán, Central District

1.4 Minimum requirements for the execution of the assignment/necessary qualifications

Bidders must meet the following requirements. The requirements marked as minimum must be met. Bidders who do not meet this requirement will not be admitted to the technical examination:

Academic:
– professional person(s) or team in the area of ​​web design with academic training in: Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Digital Marketing, Digital Graphic Design or related careers.

Work Experience:
– Proven experience, minimum of 2 years in web page and social media design
– Experience in training teams in web page and social media design

Required Skills:
– Planned, methodical, organized.
– Intercultural sensitivity and knowledge of community narratives
. – Analytical skills.
– Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
– Tolerance for pressure situations.
– Excellent interpersonal skills.

Other requirements
The assignment is expected to be carried out taking into account gender equality, impact and target group orientation, as well as sustainability criteria.
