About the Project

The European Union Delegation to Jordan, through its Regional Media Office, is seeking creative production support to enhance its Arabic-language digital presence across the MENA region. The project aims to strengthen public awareness and positive perceptions of the EU by producing and disseminating engaging, timely, and culturally resonant content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and X. The content will showcase EU initiatives, partnerships, and impacts in the region, and foster meaningful engagement with audiences through community management, paid advertising, and strategic communications. All content will be developed in Modern Standard Arabic, with occasional use of regional dialects, and must align with the EU’s political sensitivities, narrative framing, and platform-specific guidelines.

About the Content Designer Role

MAGENTA is looking for a skilled and versatile Content Designer to support the production of Arabic-language digital content for a 12-month EU-funded visibility project in the MENA region. Working closely with a Social Media Manager the Content Designer will be responsible for producing platform-ready visuals and short-form multimedia content that align with the EU’s strategic communication objectives. This is a retainer-based role, focused on high-quality, fast-turnaround content creation, with flexibility in workflow and monthly deliverables.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Content Planning & Coordination

  • Design and execute up to 8 full-fledged digital campaigns, including development of core visual concepts, content templates, and campaign assets across platforms (end-to-end production).
  • Coordinate with the Social Media Manager to ensure campaign content is aligned with messaging strategy and scheduling plans.

Deliver high-quality social media content tailored to Arabic-speaking audiences in the MENA region, including:

Profile Specifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in digital content design, particularly for social media campaigns in the MENA region.
  • Language & Design: Fluency in Arabic design conventions, including layout, typography, and content hierarchy; ability to work in English-speaking environments.
  • Tools: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects or Premiere), Figma, or equivalent tools.
  • Portfolio: Strong and diverse portfolio of static and motion content for social media; experience working with development, media, or institutional clients is a plus.
  • Delivery mindset: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple asset types and deliver on tight timelines while maintaining high quality.
  • Sensitivity: Understanding of political and cultural dynamics in the Arab region, and ability to design accordingly.

Operational Considerations

  • This is a retainer-based consultancy, expected to deliver a minimum number of assets per month (to be agreed during contracting), with the flexibility to accommodate additional content requests during peak periods.
  • The content designer may be asked to work outside standard hours on occasion to support urgent communication needs.
  • Work will be conducted remotely, with regular in person check-ins.
  • The internal team at MAGENTA will provide branding guidance, quality control, and access to design files or templates.

  • CV or portfolio highlighting relevant experience with Arabic-language social media in the MENA region.
  • A monthly retainer fee, based on the estimated scope and volume of deliverables (see table above).
  • Unit rates for additional design assets beyond the baseline retainer.
  • Relevant references or previous campaigns managed.
  • This assignment is expected to take place over 12 months.
