HEALTH – INNOVATE – TOGETHER: Since its creation in 2009, ALIMA has treated more than 13 million patients in 15 countries and currently operates in 12 African countries and Haiti. In 2022, we developed 62 humanitarian medical response projects to meet the needs of populations affected by conflict, epidemics, and extreme poverty. All of these projects are carried out in support of national health authorities through nearly 511 health facilities. We work in partnership, particularly with local NGOs, whenever possible to ensure that our patients benefit from expertise, whether at the national level or internationally. Furthermore, to improve the humanitarian response, we conduct operational and clinical research projects, particularly to combat malnutrition and viral hemorrhagic fevers.

OUR PROJECT THEMES: Malnutrition, Sexual and reproductive health including gender-based violence, Primary and secondary health, Pediatrics, Malaria, Epidemics (Hemorrhagic fevers, meningitis, Cholera, Measles, Dengue, COVID-19).

THE ALIMA TEAM: More than 2,000 people currently work for ALIMA. The field teams, working closest to patients, receive support from the coordination teams, generally based in the capital cities of the countries where they operate. These teams are supported by the four desk teams and the emergency and openings team based at the operational headquarters in Dakar, Senegal. The teams in Paris and New York actively work on fundraising and representing ALIMA. The rest of the ALIMA network includes individuals and partner teams working for other organizations such as the medical NGOs BEFEN, ALERTE Santé, SOS Médecins/KEOOGO, and AMCP; the research organizations PACCI and INSERM; the Universities of Bordeaux and Copenhagen; the NGO Solidarités International; and many others.

OUR COUNTRIES OF INTERVENTION: Mali, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Guinea, Sudan, Mauritania, Ethiopia, Haiti.

PROTECTION OF BENEFICIARIES AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS

Level 3: As part of their duties, the incumbent will be required to visit programs and be in contact with children and/or vulnerable adults. Therefore, a criminal record check or a certificate of good conduct will be required. In situations where it is impossible to provide a criminal record check or a certificate of good conduct, a sworn statement will be requested.

CONTEXT

ALIMA is seeking to continue its efforts to secure external funding to ensure its growth. To this end, the NGO is recruiting a Corporate Partnerships Officer. Based in Paris and reporting to the Major Donors team, you will directly contribute to the development of ALIMA’s private partnerships by managing a portfolio of prospects and partners and actively participating in the corporate fundraising strategy, particularly in France, but also elsewhere in Europe. You will also have the opportunity to travel to our operational headquarters in Dakar and to the countries where we work.

MISSIONS

The Corporate Relations Officer is responsible for developing and monitoring ALIMA’s portfolio of companies. They independently manage relationships with assigned partners, within the framework of the strategy defined by the Head of Major Donor Fundraising and Partnerships.

  • Identifies, qualifies and develops new partnership opportunities with companies and private sector players
  • Develops employee fundraising and engagement strategies (donation campaigns, payroll giving, matching gifts, solidarity challenges, internal events, etc.)
  • Explore and develop skills-based volunteering opportunities related to the needs of ALIMA’s various teams.
  • Identifies and develops sponsorship and event partnership opportunities, particularly within the framework of fundraising events organized by ALIMA
  • Ensures the monitoring of existing partnerships and contributes to their retention and renewal
  • Prepares and facilitates discussions with companies in its portfolio
  • Monitors trends in corporate philanthropy, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and new mechanisms for mobilizing the private sector.
  • Contributes to the identification and development of new flexible financing levers for ALIMA

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

  • Motivated by ALIMA’s mission and sharing our values;
  • Successful first experience in partnership development, fundraising, corporate sponsorship, CSR or business development, ideally within an association, foundation, company or specialized agency;
  • Knowledge of the issues surrounding corporate philanthropy, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and employee engagement mechanisms
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ease in developing partnerships and high-level relationships, and adaptability to varied contexts;
  • Master’s degree (5 years of higher education) from a business school / University in economics and management
  • Proficient in English.

FUNCTIONAL AND HIERARCHICAL LINKS

The Corporate and Foundation Partnerships Officer reports to and is supervised by the Head of Major Donor Fundraising (line manager) and the Partnerships Coordinator (functional manager). They work closely with the Director of Development, the Individual Donor Relations Officer in Paris, as well as with the public fundraising and communications teams based in Dakar.

TERMS

Contract duration and type : Permanent contract under French law – Position based in Paris (20th arrondissement) with travel to Dakar and our intervention sites

Start date : as soon as possible

  • Fixed-day contract with more than 9 weeks of paid leave and RTT (reduced working time) per year, and a system of recovery days for business trips.
  • Teleworking possible up to 2 days per week
  • Supplementary health insurance coverage for the employee and their dependents.
  • Meal voucher worth €9.25 per day, of which 60% (€5.55) is covered by ALIMA and €3.70 (40%) by the employee.
