Job purpose:

The Creative Content Producer serves as the visual storyteller for World Vision’s Syria Response in Syria, responsible for conceptualizing, producing, and delivering broadcast-quality video, photography, and written content that communicates the impact of humanitarian programming to diverse audiences. Based in Syria and embedded within the Communications & Advocacy team, this role combines journalistic rigour with creative excellence to generate compelling narratives that support fundraising, donor reporting, advocacy, and public engagement. The position requires a professional capable of working in complex, fast-paced environments while upholding World Vision’s ethical and safeguarding standards.

Major Responsibilities

Field Documentation, Resource Gathering & Production

  • Conceptualize, plan, and execute end-to-end multimedia productions including short-form documentary, social-first video, photo essays, and long-form written features across Syria Response programming areas.
  • Travel weekly/bi-weekly to programme sites to capture stories, testimonies, and visual documentation across Syria.
  • Coordinate with implementing partners and programme staff to identify story opportunities
  • Operate professional camera, lighting, and audio equipment in field conditions; manage post-production workflows including editing, colour grading, and graphics.
  • Ensure all productions adhere to World Vision’s child safeguarding policies, informed consent protocols, and ethical storytelling guidelines.

Donor and External Communications

  • Produce tailored content packages (stories, photos, videos, social media assets, donor reports) aligned with donor visibility and branding requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with programme and technical teams to capture relevant field content that reflects project progress and impact.
  • Respond in a timely manner to Support Office requests for marketing, fundraising, and campaign materials, ensuring alignment with global messaging and standards.
  • Monitor the production of project materials to ensure the World Vision logo and branding are applied consistently and in accordance with corporate standards.

Internal Communications

  • With the support of the Communications & Advocacy Manager, support a strong internal communications plan to mobilize staff for strategy and ministry execution and impact.
  • Ensure community voice content is used in internal communications platforms.
  • Support planning and coordination of World Vision Syria Response public and private advocacy and communications events.
  • Support staff training to effectively communicate the impact of World Vision, branding and donor accountability

Communications Strategy and Media

  • Support preparation for external and internal visits, ensuring key messages and content are ready in a timely manner.
  • Supported by the Advocacy & Communications Manager, work within the guidance of the WV Syria Response Communications Strategy; contribute to its review and updating.
  • Build relationships with local media and support media engagement activities as guided by the Communications Manager.
  • Monitor media coverage and alert the Communications Manager to potential risks or opportunities.
  • Other communications-related work as assigned

Knowledge/Qualifications for the Role.

Required Professional Experience

Experience

  • Minimum two years of experience in journalism, communications, or content production, preferably with an NGO or in a humanitarian context
  • Demonstrated proficiency in video production and photography, including camera operation, lighting, and composition
  • Strong editing skills using industry-standard software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, Lightroom, Photoshop, or equivalent)
  • Experience in written storytelling including feature writing, case studies, and digital content
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital engagement strategies

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent visual storytelling and creative abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, and deliver under pressure
  • Cultural sensitivity and commitment to humanitarian principles
  • Flexibility to travel frequently to field locations, including remote and challenging areas

Preferred Education/Degree and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, media production, or a related field.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a conflict-affected or humanitarian context
  • Proven expertise in multimedia content creation, including writing, editing, and photography

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement

60% field based

40% office work

Language Requirements

Fluent in spoken and written English & Arabic
