General Background
GRC are policy makers, lawyers and development experts dedicated to promoting accountability and strengthening justice systems through the application of international law. With ongoing operations in some of the world’s most complex legal and security environments, Global Rights Compliance continues to provide specialised legal expertise, policy solutions, and strategic advisory services to uphold justice and strengthen the rule of law globally.
GRC’s work on mapping the pillaging of Ukraine’s natural resources, specifically targeting the illegal exploitation of the country’s raw materials, will assess whether and how these actions violate IHL, ICL and BHR corporate responsibility standards and will advance accountability by supporting prosecutors in building cases around these crimes. The project will aim, in the long term, to support the identification of individual and business stakeholders whose activities enable the pillaging and hold those responsible accountable, striving to better understand the differentiated impacts that the illegal exploitation of natural resources has on vulnerable groups.
