Electrical and Energy Technician At Institute for University Co-operation

TERMS OF REFERENCE: Recruitment of an electrical and energy technician

1. Context

As part of the implementation of cooperation activities between the municipality of Nabeul and ICU Tunisia, particularly in the areas of energy efficiency, solar energy and the modernization of municipal infrastructure, it is planned to recruit a Technician to support the Technical Directorate of the Municipality of Nabeul in the management and monitoring of daily technical activities and to monitor cooperation projects between ICU and the municipality of Nabeul.

2. Place of assignment

  • 4 days a week : Municipality of Nabeul.
  • 1 day per week : ICU Tunisia office.

3. Mission duration

Fixed-term contract, in accordance with national legislation. Duration: 12 months.

4. Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Project Managers and the Technical Department of the Municipality of Nabeul, the technician will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the technical team of the municipality of Nabeul in maintenance operations:
    • municipal public lighting installations: changing light fixtures, diagnosing/repairing electrical cabinets, electrical cables…
    • electrical installations in municipal buildings and electrical installations in municipal sports infrastructure.
  • Provide technical monitoring of ICU/Municipality of Nabeul cooperation projects.
  • Verify the conformity of the work carried out by the service providers.
  • Participate in the collection of energy consumption data for municipal infrastructure.
  • Supporting the ICU in the development of technical specifications relating to electrical and energy equipment and the acceptance of equipment and work;

5. Desired Profile

Formation

Advanced technician diploma or applied license in electrical engineering or industrial electricity or equivalent discipline.

Professional experience

  • Professional experience of between 2 and 5 years .
  • Proven experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Installation of lighting fixtures
    • Design and installation of photovoltaic systems;
    • Industrial electricity;
    • Energy efficiency
    • Building electricity.

  • Employment certificates justifying the professional experiences mentioned.
  • Contact details of reference persons (hierarchical superior or technical manager) who can be contacted for verification.

6. Required skills

  • Good knowledge of low-voltage electrical installations.
  • Knowledge of photovoltaic systems and/or energy efficiency equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams.
  • Good command of Excel (tables, graphs, data processing), Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in the field and to monitor construction sites.
  • Good writing and reporting skills.
  • Sense of organization, autonomy and team spirit.

7. Selection criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

General professional experience (number of years):

2 or 3 years: 10 points; 4 years or older: 15 points

Relevant professional experience (photovoltaics, solar thermal, public lighting, low-voltage electrical installations)

Points: 45 pts

Experience in site monitoring and work supervision

Points: 10 pts

Interview and motivation:

  • Technical interview (Knowledge of electricity, safety, reading diagrams, troubleshooting, public lighting, photovoltaics): 20 points
    • Motivation and personal skills: 10 points

Points: 30 pts

Total: 100 pts
