eyeWitness seeks to bring the perpetrators of atrocities to justice by providing technical expertise in building photo and video dossiers that can be authenticated for use in criminal investigations or trials.
The Communications Coordinator develops the organisation’s communications strategy, identifying its target audiences and priority areas. The role will oversee external communications, including social media, press relations, website content, and will ensure coherent messages, high editorial standards, and a strong institutional voice.
Key tasks:
- Write compelling stories for digital and print platforms
- Draft, edit, and publish engaging content across platforms (website, social media, press releases)
- Manage and grow eyeWitness’ social media presence, ensuring content is timely, relevant and engaging
- Respond to media inquiries and coordinate press engagement
- Ensure consistency in tone, style, and messaging across all communications
- Develop outreach material for beneficiaries in target countries
- Develop briefing materials for stakeholders demonstrating impact in a visually creative way
- Develop and implement internal guidelines on branding, editing and work processes
- On an ad hoc basis, assisting other staff members with their outreach needs
About you
- You have outstanding writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. You will have experience conveying complex ideas in an understandable manner to different audiences.
- You will have excellent judgment and attention to detail, including the ability to ensure language is precise, balanced, and factually accurate.
- A collaborative team player, highly organised, and forward thinking. You will show initiative and take a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Experience reviewing and editing content for clarity, consistency, grammar, and alignment with organisational messaging.
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and coordinate different projects with minimal supervision. To achieve this goal, you will create and maintain constant and strong lines of communication.
- Team-oriented and keen to work well with colleagues across departments.
- Flexible and able to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and prioritise work tasks.
