POSITION SUMMARY:

The Field MEAL Coordinator is responsible for supporting the effective implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities at the field level. The position ensures that MEAL systems, tools, and procedures are properly applied across projects, supporting evidence-based decision-making, quality programming, accountability to affected populations (AAP), and continuous learning.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of project-specific MEAL plans, frameworks, and monitoring systems in coordination with program teams.
  • Ensure effective coordination and integration of MEAL activities across field locations and projects.
  • Support the adaptation and roll-out of MEAL tools, guidelines, and procedures at the field level.
  • Provide technical support to field teams to ensure compliance with organizational MEAL standards and donor requirements.
  • Coordinate and conduct regular field monitoring visits, including activity monitoring, process monitoring, distribution monitoring, and Post-Intervention Monitoring (PIM).
  • Support the development and review of data collection tools using digital platforms such as KoboToolbox or other relevant systems.
  • Conduct field-level data quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of information.
  • Support the implementation and strengthening of the Complaints and Feedback Mechanism (CFM) at the field level.
  • Monitor feedback trends, support complaint follow-up, and ensure timely referral and response in coordination with relevant teams.
  • Provide coaching and on-the-job support to field teams on MEAL concepts, tools, data collection methods, and accountability principles.
  • Support training sessions for staff, community mobilizers, and enumerators on MEAL-related topics.
  • Adherence to code of conduct, safeguarding policy, and PSEA policy. Reporting any complaints related to safeguarding or misconduct.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., international development, social sciences, etc.).
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning roles, preferably in the context of humanitarian or development programs.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English (written and spoken). Arabic (fluent)
  • Others:
  • Proficient use of KOBO, MS Word, Excel, and Power BI
  • Proficient in producing high quality reports.
  • Strong understanding of MEAL principles and humanitarian standards.
  • Experience with logical frameworks and Results-Based Management (RBM).
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills.
  • Experience with Kobo Toolbox, ODK, or similar digital data collection platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in report writing.
