Job Overview
The Field Monitor will contribute to the implementation and monitoring of community stabilization activities in the designated areas of northern Togo. Working closely with local authorities, community representatives, and program stakeholders, the incumbent will facilitate community engagement, support the implementation of activities, monitor progress on the ground, and produce regular reports on program interventions. The position contributes to strengthening collaboration between communities and local actors while ensuring that activities are implemented effectively, inclusively, and in accordance with project objectives.

The Field Monitor will contribute to the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of program activities in their assigned area. The incumbent will serve as the primary liaison between the program, local authorities, community structures, and beneficiaries to ensure effective communication, active stakeholder engagement, regular reporting, and the successful execution of community stabilization activities. Through continuous field monitoring and the sharing of relevant information, the position will contribute to informed decision-making and the program’s success.
Main responsibilities
- Contribute to the implementation and coordination of program activities in the area of ​​assignment.
- Promote inclusive participation of local authorities, community leaders and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to the identification and development of community activities that align with the program’s objectives.
- Support the organization of coordination meetings and the implementation of approved activities.
- Monitor field activities and document their implementation through reports, photographs and other supporting documents.
- To collect, analyze and share relevant information that could influence the program.
- Ensure effective communication between the program, local authorities, community structures and other stakeholders.
- Prepare activity reports, information notes and other program documents.
- Maintain good working relationships with authorities, community representatives and local coordinating groups.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

The Field Monitor will be under the administrative supervision of the National Program Officer in Dapaong and the technical supervision of the National Project Officer in Accra, and under the overall supervision of the Program Manager . The incumbent will work closely with field offices, local authorities, community representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure the proper implementation and monitoring of project activities.
Key competencies
Key skills
- Bachelor’s degree in international relations, sociology, political science, education or a related field, with at least two (2) years of relevant professional experience, or high school diploma with at least four (4) years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in implementing development or stabilization projects in Togo is required. Experience in northern Togo is an asset.
- Experience with participatory community approaches to project design and implementation is desirable.
- Ability to safely ride an all-terrain motorcycle in challenging environments and terrain conditions; possession of a valid Category A driving licence is an asset.
- Experience in collaborating with administrative and traditional authorities and ability to establish effective partnerships with communities.
- Experience in capacity building for local organizations and/or managing small grants is an asset.
- Good understanding of governance, community resilience and stabilization approaches.
- Excellent coordination, analytical, report writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with local stakeholders and community structures.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and produce quality results under tight deadlines.
- Good command of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), the Internet and email.
- Fluency in French, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Proficiency in Anoufo (Tchokossi), Ngangam, Moba, Fulani, Gourma, Mossi, or other languages ​​commonly spoken in northern Togo is a major asset.

This position does not involve any hierarchical or direct supervisory responsibility . The incumbent will work closely with program teams, field offices, local authorities, community representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure the proper implementation and monitoring of activities.

Additional information
- This position is based in the communes of Kpendjal 2 and Oti-Sud 2, Savanes region, Togo. Candidates must be willing and able to work at any assigned duty station.
- The candidate must be proficient in riding an off-road motorcycle. Holding a valid category A driving licence is an asset.
- The duration of this contract is 6 months with the possibility of extension.
- Candidates must be of Togolese nationality.
