Job summary, aim and purpose:

The Field Site Engineer works

On the technical and field supervision of the implementation of house restoration works according to the approved plans and specifications

The position aims to ensure the quality of engineering work and compliance with technical standards, provide technical support to field teams, and contribute to solving technical problems that may arise during implementation to ensure that project objectives are achieved according to the specified schedule and budget.

Job duties and responsibilities:

Supervising the implementation of field work for the targeted houses and ensuring compliance with technical specifications and engineering standards.

Monitoring the progress of daily work and ensuring the quality of materials and equipment used.

Preparing periodic field reports that illustrate progress, quality, technical problems, and proposed solutions.

Providing technical guidance to field teams and contractors to ensure work is carried out correctly

Contributing to the technical planning of future projects and preparing implementation schedules

Participating in the provisional and final acceptance processes for works and ensuring their conformity to specifications.

Coordination with other project teams to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to the project timeline

Supporting the development of quality control tools and engineering specifications in the project

Participating in field and technical meetings with internal teams, beneficiaries, and contractors

Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards and engineering policies approved by the organization and UNDP

Perform any additional tasks requested by the project manager or supervising engineer to ensure successful progress of the work.

Job requirements

University degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture

Arabic and English languages

At least 3 years of practical experience in supervising construction or renovation projects

Knowledge of engineering standards for reconstruction and repair projects

Experience using design and engineering drawing software such as AutoCAD or equivalent.

Proficiency in using basic computer programs (MS Office)

High supervisory and technical skills

Strong organizational skills and the ability to pay attention to detail

Effective communication skills and teamwork.

The ability to solve technical problems and make decisions quickly and effectively.

Adherence to quality, safety and accountability standards at work.

The ability to manage time and work under pressure.

Confident communicator, capable of earning people’s respect

Ability to work under pressure

Flexibility at work

The ability to work in multi-tasking field environments and adapt to different working conditions.

Ability to travel is required
