JOB OBJECTIVES
In collaboration with the Head of Finance and Support Services, the Finance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all of the organization’s project-related financial operations. This includes financial reporting, forecasting, and budget analysis. They actively participate in the development and implementation of the organization’s financial strategies, which support overall objectives. This job description implies the possibility of acting as interim Finance Coordinator, or as a second Finance Coordinator, when required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the implementation of financial policies, procedures and controls that guarantee the accuracy and integrity of financial reports
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Actively participate in the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts and financial projections.
- Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts and provide variance analysis and recommendations to management.
- To take part in the conduct and management of internal and external audit processes and to support the implementation of all audit recommendations.
- Provide training to staff and partners on financial procedures, DCA requirements and donor requirements.
- Supporting the Head of Finance and Support Services, in coordination with the Finance Coordinator, in monitoring partners including quality control of their financial reports.
- To be the business partner of the program teams and to support, guide and assist them on a daily basis
- Participate in the recruitment of staff for the finance department.
- Support the finance team, provide guidance and support to team members, and ensure the overall efficiency and productivity of the team.
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including program colleagues, headquarters, auditors and partners.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and report variances to the Head of Finance and program teams.
- Develop and implement financial formats and analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with the heads of other units and departments at the organizational level.
- To perform any other task assigned to him by his line manager.
SKILLS & PROFILE
- Have at least a master’s degree in financial management, economics or other related field.
- Have at least 5 years of experience in the same position and with NGOs
- Have very good experience working with US, EU, FH and UN funding.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good command of computer tools, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and an ERP system.
- Ability to work in a challenging environmental context.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
