The position to be filled is within the Finance Department, whose mission is to contribute to the proper management of the association by guaranteeing the quality and reliability of financial information, the security of flows and the efficiency of financial processes.
JOB OBJECTIVES:
You contribute to this mission by supporting field programs in the event of increased activity, gap filling, and training local teams. You will also be required to contribute to cross-functional projects within the Finance Department, particularly in improving internal control and risk management in your area of responsibility.
You report to the Head of the Flying/Roving Finance division and work closely with the geographic departments. The position is based at the headquarters in Lyon, with field travel (maximum 50% of the time on field missions). Missions last from 1 week to 3 months. The mission generally consists of periods of remote support from the headquarters and presence in the field.
In person or remotely, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Absorbing increased activity in the context of closure, reorganizations (merger, closure, transfer), specific audits for “at risk” lessors, drafting proposals for lessors, and implementing major financing.
- Provide temporary gap filling in the event of early or unforeseen departure of financial managers in the field (illness, visas, recruitment delays, etc.).
- Train local finance teams in the field on HI processes and tools, for new arrivals or as part of continuing education.
The main responsibilities are as follows:
- Establish or maintain an appropriate financial organization and operating framework.
- Ensure compliance with local legislation as well as HI procedures and rules.
- Ensure the management of financial resources in compliance with internal procedures and donor requirements.
- Manage communication and external relations in your area of expertise.
- Assist the Program Director (PD).
For each mission, you are attached to a specific program, the terms of reference of which are validated by the DP. You can be mobilized quickly (15 days minimum) for field and/or remote missions lasting from 1 week to 3 months maximum.
The missions are varied and require great adaptability, both in terms of the contexts and cultures of each mission and in terms of the types of missions to be carried out.
REQUIRED PROFILE:
- You have already held a position as a field financial manager in an NGO.
- Know the rules of donors (ECHO, EU, OFDA, UNICEF, etc.) and master the management tools specific to the activity, as well as the analysis and processing of accounting and financial information.
- You know how to detect malfunctions and resolve problems.
- You have good skills in helping your colleagues progress.
- Oral and written English is essential to successfully complete your missions.
WORKPLACE ACCESSIBILITY:
The Lyon office is easily accessible by public transport (bus, metro). Car parking and a bicycle parking area are also available. Access ramps and elevators ensure smooth circulation within the building. All workstations are located in open-plan offices, but cubicles are available on each floor for quieter work if necessary. The workspace is very bright.
