Reporting to: Finance Manager

Under the technical responsibility of: Finance Manager

Person under his responsibility: Team of approximately 5 people

Type of contract: Fixed-term contract – local contract

Duration: 12 months

Handicap International is an international, non-political and non-denominational non-governmental organization (NGO) working in the field of rights of people with disabilities.

Present in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) since 1995, it operates in the following areas:

1. Community-based rehabilitation;

2. Inclusive education;

3. Maternal and child health;

4. Humanitarian logistics;

5. Protection;

6. Mental health

7. Emergency assistance to vulnerable populations in the DRC.

As part of the strengthening of its Finance team in the DRC, Handicap International is looking for a Financial Supervisor under local contract for its Kinshasa office**.**

General mission:

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Financial Supervisor produces quality financial information and contributes to the application and dissemination of the budgetary framework, local rules and donor rules, tools, procedures and standards of the organization in the financial field.

  • Mission 4: Operational implementation (Responsibility 1: Contributes to financial and budgetary management / Responsibility 2: Contributes to lessor financial management in compliance with “lessor” standards and contractual obligations / Responsibility 3: Contributes to the quality of partners’ financial information
  • Mission 5: Animation of the profession
  • Mission 6: Emergency Preparedness and Response

How to apply

Required training and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics and finance
  • Minimum 5 years of equivalent experience in financial responsibility at the country mission level, with a cross-functional role on the basis of the mission
  • Knowledge of US, Belgian and UN donors
  • Mandatory experience in an INGO
  • Desired: knowledge of Navision Finance software
