GBV PSS Worker – Menbij At IYD International Humanitarian Relief Association

Job Purpose

Providing psychosocial support activities for girls and women within the safe space center for women and girls of IYD in the project area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing psychosocial support activities to beneficiaries regarding protection activities from GBV.
  • Participate in planning and organizing social support sessions and psychosocial activities with beneficiaries.
  • Prepare the requirements and needs for each psychosocial support session.
  • Coordinating with the technical supervisor and submitting plans and reports to him periodically.
  • Identification of women, adolescent girls, and cases at risk who require case management and ensuring safe referral to the case manager.
  • Positive interaction with the beneficiaries and encouraging them to express their needs and ensure their safety.
  • Ensure that activities are carried out in an appropriate place in line with minimum standards and in proportion to people with disabilities.
  • Collect and document feedback on the implementation of the methodology, including challenges and lessons learned.
  • Ensure that all beneficiaries and caregivers are aware of any accountability/complaint mechanisms.
  • Respect and adhere to the internal rules of conduct and the child protection policy of the organization.
  • Preparing a report on individual and collective progress while respecting confidentiality within protection sessions from gender-based violence.
  • Collect attendance of participants in activities, and fill out weekly reports as required.
  • Participate in weekly meetings and present reports and plans to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality, case management, and reporting requirements.
  • Work in close cooperation with male and female workers and other protection program staff.
  • Monitoring the beneficiaries and drawing the attention of the supervisor to the cases that need special attention.
  • Work in accordance with and respect the principles of protection, humanitarian action and confidentiality, and work with IDPs and host communities with sensitivity.

Qualification (Education/Work Experience)

  1. Essential:
  • A university degree or at least a university student in education, psychology, or in a field closely related to the required work.
  • Work experience in managing cases of gender-based violence survivors for at least two years.
  • Experience in other GBV activities for at least two years.
  • At least one year case management supervisor experience.
  • Full knowledge of basic and additional trainings such as managing cases of gender-based violence, studying the risks and types of GBV, training supervision on case management, studying the risks and types of GBV, training of trainers in gender-based violence.
  • Good background in dealing with the target group.
  • Familiarity with and commitment to humanitarian standards.

Desirable:

  • Master’s degree in Education or Social Sciences.
    • More than three years of professional experience in the same position.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
