These are remote work positions, open to candidates based in one of the countries where Relief International operates, within a time zone encompassing the UK and Pakistan.
Travel to country offices and field sites, representing up to 30% of the time, may be required as needed.

About the position
As a key member of the Resource Development and Programme Implementation team, the Geographic Coordinator plays a vital role in helping Relief International mobilize the resources needed to implement high-impact humanitarian and development programmes across multiple country offices.
Working closely with Geographic Managers, country offices and technical teams, you will contribute to donor relations, strategic positioning and fundraising efforts with a diverse range of donors, including European donors, the US government, UN agencies, foundations, businesses and other institutional funding partners.
You will lead and coordinate the entire proposal development process, from identifying opportunities to submitting them, ensuring that the proposals produced are of high quality, meet donor requirements and are competitive.
This position is for an experienced fundraising professional who enjoys intercultural work, coordinating complex proposal development processes, and supporting programs to mobilize funding to have a significant impact in some of the world’s most challenging humanitarian contexts.
Your responsibilities
This position includes the following responsibilities:
- Monitor donor trends, funding opportunities and strategic priorities, and share relevant information and positioning opportunities with country teams and headquarters teams.
- Support funder outreach and strategic positioning efforts by developing concept notes, case studies, and funding approaches for priority opportunities.
- To manage and coordinate the entire proposal development process, in order to ensure high-quality submissions, delivered on time, competitive and compliant with donor requirements.
- Coordinate proposal design workshops, consortium building processes and internal review mechanisms involving stakeholders from programs, finance, technical teams and operations.
- Provide technical support and advice to country offices on donor requirements, proposal development, budgeting and financing development processes.
- Facilitate “go/no-go” decision processes and accurately maintain the funding pipeline and opportunity tracking tools.
- Develop and strengthen the capacities of country teams in program design, proposal development and donor relations.
- Participate, where appropriate, in submissions to donors and the use of their online platforms, including APPEL, GMS and UNPP.
- Support cross-functional coordination between Resource Development, Programme Implementation, Grant Management, Finance and technical teams, as well as country offices.
Your profile
You possess the following experience and skills:
- Professional proficiency in English is essential.
- Professional proficiency in French is required.
- Proven experience in mobilizing funding from institutional and non-institutional donors, as well as in supporting complex funding opportunities in the humanitarian and development sectors.
- Solid experience with funding mechanisms from donors such as ECHO, FCDO, European Union institutions, United Nations agencies, US government donors, foundations and other international funding partners.
- Experience in managing complex proposal development processes, including in consortium, from opportunity identification to submission to the donor.
- Good understanding of donor compliance requirements, proposal budgeting, indirect cost recovery and financial management principles.
- Degree in international relations, business administration or another relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Excellent writing, proofreading and communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling documents for donors under tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across different countries and time zones.
- Experience in humanitarian or conflict-affected contexts, as well as a good knowledge of the international humanitarian system, would be highly valued.
