ASSIGNMENT

Within the Finance area, the Grant Management Project Expert is responsible for ensuring high-quality management, in line with donor regulations, for the grant projects awarded, financed by institutional funds, foundations, and companies, in support of International Programs.

Grant Management

· Financial planning and monitoring of awarded grants, funded by institutional donors, foundations, and corporations, managed by the International Programs Directorate according to the requirements of Save the Children Italy, Save the Children International, and each individual donor;

·Support in preparing financial reports for grants managed by the International Programs Directorate according to the guidelines of institutional donors, companies, and foundations and the rules of Save the Children Italy;

·Support for project and structural audits, both in Italy and at local offices, where required;

·Support in drafting budget proposals as part of the preparation of new institutional proposals to the International Programs Directorate, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines;

·Management and administrative/financial training for staff and project partners of international programs, in accordance with the guidelines of institutional donors, foundations, and companies, in Italy and abroad, where required;

·Risk analysis and development of risk reduction strategies to ensure project objectives are achieved;

·Participation in meetings with institutional donors, foundations, and companies, in Italy and in the countries of intervention, aimed at the management and financial supervision of institutional projects, where requested;

·Conducting verification and financial monitoring missions in project implementation countries, where requested.

Other responsibilities:

·Support the International Programs Directorate in developing and updating internal guidelines and policies relating to the management of major institutional donors;

·Support Finance with planning, budgeting, and control activities, as well as the preparation of the financial statements, within the scope of their respective areas of expertise.

LONG-TERM RESULTS

·Carry out expenditure updates and periodic monitoring of assigned International Programs Directorate projects;

·Create updates on the progress of Grant projects funded by institutions, foundations, and companies active in the assigned geographical areas;

·Manage relationships with Save the Children International country offices to ensure timely monitoring of assigned projects by conducting at least one monthly call for each assigned project;

Support Save the Children International country offices to ensure the proper implementation of assigned projects, in compliance with donor-specific compliance regulations.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum 4 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, in financial management of institutionally funded projects, budgeting, reporting, and auditing.

·Excellent knowledge of management and reporting procedures and guidelines of major institutional donors.

·Excellent knowledge of English and Italian, both written and spoken.

Preferred requirement: previous experience in managing emergency projects funded by institutional donors (DG ECHO, UN, AICS, etc.)
