A closer look at our activities in the DRC

Our mission in the DRC has existed since 2001. PUI is developing its integrated approach there with projects in primary healthcare and the fight against malnutrition. PUI operates in Ituri with nutrition and health projects, and in North Kivu through an integrated emergency nutrition and health approach complemented by food security activities.

And what about the Grants Coordinator in all of this?

As Grants Coordinator, you will be responsible for PUI’s programs. You will ensure that grant proposals, donor reports, and internal reports address identified needs in the country and are consistent with PUI’s overall strategy. Furthermore, you will work to produce high-quality documentation on time, in accordance with donor requirements and organizational guidelines, contributing to a continuous learning and capacity-building process, particularly for national staff.

For this, you will be responsible for:

Funding Strategy: You will contribute to the development of the fundraising strategy for the entire national program by assessing existing funding sources in the country and donor strategies.

Grant Management: You will be the focal point for program design and proposal development, donor reporting, donor guidelines analysis, grant information management, and grant management capacity building efforts.

Internal reporting, institutional knowledge management and capacity building: You will be responsible for monitoring calls for proposals and funding awarded to ensure well-designed projects, quality funding applications and reporting submissions to donors, as well as compliance with donors and sub-grants for all projects.

The challenges that await you:

The main responsibilities of this position are: Coordinating the development and submission of several multi-site, multi-year project proposals within Première Urgence Internationale’s areas of intervention, in collaboration with various national and international partners. Contributing to the development of the DRC mission’s funding strategy, taking into account the volatile context. Ensuring expertise with traditional donors and identifying new donors to guide teams in developing and implementing projects within the mission. Strengthening the field teams’ understanding of donor regulations and grant management procedures.

What you will need to succeed

  • Formation

You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a field related to project management, international development and/or social sciences.

  • Experience

You have at least two years of experience working for an NGO in grant management, program development, or grant compliance. Have you previously worked with Première Urgence Internationale? That would be a definite asset!

  • SKILLS

You demonstrate strong skills in drafting and coordinating high-quality proposals for major donors and possess a thorough understanding of the rules and regulations of key institutional donors (e.g., ECHO, BPRM, DFID, CDC, AFD, UNICEF, and UNHCR). You are capable of writing, revising, and editing narrative and financial reports and demonstrate a strong attention to detail.

  • Qualities

You are capable of working independently, taking responsibility proactively to propose solutions, and identifying solutions. You are motivated, flexible, and adaptable to the needs of teams and the organization, and you demonstrate a strong commitment to humanitarian principles. You are diplomatic and open-minded, resilient under pressure, and able to manage priorities and varied workloads. You possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills and are able to ensure effective and timely results. You also have the ability to integrate into the local environment, taking into account its political, economic, and historical characteristics.

PUI will offer you

  • Status: Manager with a fixed-term contract
  • Gross Salary: €2,650.00 – €3,130.00 depending on your experience in international solidarity + €50 per six months of seniority within the PUI
  • Insurance including medical and supplementary health coverage, 24/7 assistance and repatriation

  • Living expenses (“Per Diem”)
  • Break Policy: 5 working days at 3 and 9 months + break allowance
  • Paid leave policy: 5 weeks of paid leave per year + return ticket every 6 months
