The URD Group
The URD Group is an independent think tank specializing in the analysis of practices and the development of policies for humanitarian action and the management of fragilities.
Today, the URD Group enters a new phase of its development with the implementation of its 2030 Strategy. For more than 30 years, we have contributed to changing humanitarian practices through recognized expertise, benchmark work and a strong international network.
Our ambition now is to take things to the next level: to ensure that this expertise contributes even more to public debates, decisions, and transformations within the sector . This involves strengthening our ties with our long-standing partners and reaching out to new audiences capable of engaging with our analyses.
Your mission
We are creating this role at a pivotal moment in the development of Groupe URD. As part of our 2030 Strategy, your mission will be to build and implement a communication and influence strategy capable of increasing the impact of our work. Working directly with management and research teams, you will contribute to bringing our analyses to the forefront of public debate, strengthening our relationships with our long-standing partners (humanitarian organizations, donors, academics), and opening Groupe URD to new audiences, including the media, public decision-makers, elected officials, and the general public.
Your responsibilities
Define and manage our communication and influence strategy
- Define and implement the communication and influence strategy of the URD Group, in conjunction with Management.
- Identify priority audiences, key messages and speaking opportunities.
- Defining an editorial strategy to support the 2030 Strategy.
- Advise management and researchers on their public positioning, messages, formats and dissemination opportunities.
Building narratives that convey our expertise
- Identify the works that deserve to be highlighted and choose the right angle, the right format and the right time to broadcast them.
- Working with researchers to identify key messages and transform complex analyses into accessible and engaging content for different audiences.
- Define and manage our editorial strategy across our various channels (LinkedIn, newsletters +10,000 people, website, publications), ensuring that formats are adapted to the target audiences.
- Produce or coordinate the creation of content (articles, opinion pieces, reports, videos, infographics, etc.);
- Organize events (webinars, launches, meetings) to promote our work.
Developing our influence
- Building and maintaining relationships of trust with journalists, specialized media, decision-makers and institutional partners in order to make Groupe URD a key interlocutor on issues of solidarity and crisis management.
- Identify editorial and media opportunities to bring Groupe URD’s analyses to the forefront of public debates.
- Supporting public speaking engagements (opinion pieces, interviews, conferences, podcasts…).
- To strengthen and protect the reputation of Groupe URD with international institutions, donors and humanitarian organizations.
- Adapt our communication to develop new audiences, particularly among French decision-makers, risk management stakeholders and public policymakers.
Desired profile
- You have at least 5 to 8 years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, advocacy or a related field.
- You know how to build a communication strategy linked to influence objectives.
- You understand institutional environments and know how to identify opportunities for speaking out and gaining visibility.
- Excellent analytical, synthesis and writing skills.
- You are independent, proactive, and enjoy building new projects.
- You have experience in press relations and enjoy developing trusting relationships with journalists and experts.
- Professional English.
Conditions
- Contract:Â Permanent part-time contract: 160 days of work (equivalent to 4 days per week with 30 working days of paid leave and approximately 15 days of autonomy)
- Benefits:Â 100% health insurance coverage, cultural and gift vouchers, Sustainable Mobility Package
- Salary : based on the salary scale between €27,000 and €34,000 per year
- Location : in Plaisians in the Drôme Provençale region
- Regular travel will be required.
- Teleworking is possible according to the charter.
- Start date:Â October 2026
