Mission
The position aims to coordinate the health actions of the projects that the organization develops in the Sahrawi Refugee Camps in Tindouf.

Hierarchical dependence of the MDM Sahara Country Coordination with a technical health team under its charge.
Responsibilities
Strategic
• Actively participate with the Country Coordination team in the development of lines of action and in the definition of the Country Strategy.
• To propose strategies in the healthcare sector to improve efficiency and effectiveness and to enhance synergies between lines of action. Where appropriate, to implement and monitor them.
• Contribute to the integration of cross-cutting approaches in the health field, together with the Gender and Human Rights Coordinator.
Program and project development
• Support the entire project cycle from needs assessment and formulation to final evaluation, in all health aspects, with a focus on results and impact.
• Along with the coordination of the different departments, supervise MdM interventions from a health perspective: analysis of the quality of services, technical and scientific support/advice during the execution of projects, analysis and monitoring of indicators, compliance with medical standards, relationships and appropriation of the health system, etc.
Technical support
• Contribute to the coordination process of purchasing medicines, consumables and project materials, in collaboration with the staff responsible for pharmacy, logistics, administration and the rest of the team.
• Track indicators, results, sales force, and other products
• Support the healthcare team hired by Doctors of the World, specifically in terms of training, supervision, training needs and performance evaluation.
• Identify training needs of health personnel and promote their implementation, ensuring quality content and scientific rigor.
• Monitor the content of Health Education campaigns.
Monitoring and Reporting
• Ensure the monitoring and reporting of health-related activities in compliance with the conditions and stipulations of the projects and the procedures and principles of Doctors of the World.
• Participate in and promote the collection and analysis of data from health services, contributing to the strengthening of the Ministry of Public Health’s Health Information System; and of data monitoring MdM projects, contributing to the development of Activity Info
• Identify new health intervention needs, including responses to health emergencies that may occur, such as epidemic outbreaks.
• Monitor and support the implementation of activities to strengthen the Priority Programs of the Ministry of Health of the SADR, as well as participate in and promote the collection and analysis of statistical data on medical services (strengthening the Health Information System).
• Collaborate in the preparation of project monitoring reports: internal reports from Doctors of the World, external reports from donors and local and international institutions.
• Draft periodic technical reports, SITREPs, and participate in team meetings.
Coordination and representation
• Maintain contacts and close collaborative relationships from a technical-medical point of view with local partners, Sahrawi health authorities, agencies or other national and international NGOs related to health.
• Participate and become part of the International Network of Doctors of the World
• Participate in the Communities, Working Groups of the geostrategic group or of the International Network when required by your supervisor.
Health risk management
• Be responsible for the existence, knowledge, updating and application of safety standards relating to the health of MdM personnel: health guide, MEDEVAC, first aid kits, COVID-19 protocols, etc.
• Participate in the definition and implementation of the health policy of the MdM teams.
• Provide technical support for emergency responses in the intervention area and in the management of critical incidents with a health component.
Any other demand related to their functions, made by the Country Coordination.
Minimum requirements
Training
Academic Qualification:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in medicine or diploma in nursing.
Additional Training:
Project cycle management (logical framework, results-oriented management, rights-based approach), management of health programs and projects, community health, awareness-raising, public health, interculturality and gender.
Requirements
Languages: Excellent level of Spanish is essential. Highly desirable: English, French.
Valuable: Arabic.
Computer skills: User level of the Office suite.
Experience
Essential field experience in international cooperation in the aforementioned functions.
Desirable experience in humanitarian action contexts and knowledge of the Sahrawi context.

Salary tables for Doctors of the World. Category: Group 4: Medical Coordination. Permanent contract.
Working hours: 40 hours.
