We are seeking a Health Program Manager to provide management of a health project in one of our Middle East offices. S/he will oversee the projects activities and team members, responsible for training community health workers, providing primary health care services in rural areas and at Primary Healthcare Centers, and providing health-related operational support and infrastructural rehabilitation in the area. Management responsibilities will include leading the design and strategic vision of the project, budget management, and oversight of aforementioned health services provided by Samaritans Purse.
A day in the life of a Health Program Manager:
In the role of Health Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
- Develop and implement innovative and strategic programmatic solutions to the Health gaps in the area, considering local norms and budget availability.
- Serve as primary budget holder for the project budget, ensuring that funds are spent in accordance with the approved budget and internal policies.
- Recruit, manage, and develop multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, and health care workers to ensure effective implementation of project activities.
- Serve as programmatic representative for all Health-related procurement tender committees.
- Liaise with Global Technical Advisors to ensure the program is designed and implemented in line with global humanitarian and development Health standards.
- Coordinate closely with support departments (M&E, HR, Finance, Security, Logistics) to ensure and programs are implemented in line with SP policies and procedures.
- Responsible for writing Health program reports, proposals, and standard operating procedures.
- Directly supervise 1 non-supervisory employee and 2 supervisory employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Samaritans Purse policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree from four year university in nursing, public health, or related field with a minimum of two years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Clinical training (e.g., nursing, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or medical degree) preferred. Masters degree in Public Health (MPH), Health Systems, Global Health, or related field preferred. Experience living and working in Middle Eastern cultures preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of project management in various sectors including proposal writing, program development, implementation, and monitoring/evaluating methodologies.
- Strong project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and create a strong team spirit.
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate and interact well with people of different ethnic, linguistic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
- Ability to work in difficult conditions under pressure.
- General knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong English language writing and oral communication skills, and ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
