General Description of SDI
Social Development International SDI is a no-profit NGO established in 2015 and daily registered in Turkey, which provides humanitarian assistance to affected people in Syria.
SDI services cover northern Syria through its programs, SNFIs, Health, Nutrition, Education, WASH, Protection, FSL, and CCCM.
General Description of Unit
The SDI Human Resources department is responsible for but not limited to:
– Recruitment and contracting
– Training and capacity building
– Employee performance Management
– The organization’s policies and procedures
– Archive all HR documents
Purpose of Position
HR Assistant will assist in variety of HR tasks such as: recruitment, payrolls, performance evaluation, capacity building, other administrative tasks, and serve as a focal point between HR department and office staff
Communication and coordination structure of the position

Supply Chain Department – Finance Department – Office Management – All Office Staff

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES (RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS) – ToR
He/She will be responsible for, but not limited to:
1- Recruitment:
- Assisting in posting job advertisements
- Communicating with candidates throughout the recruitment process
- Coordinating interviews and representing the HR department when needed
- Facilitating written and technical tests
- Preparing interview reports, hiring decision proposals, and draft job offers
- Conducting onboarding and orientation sessions for newly hired staff upon contract signing
2- Personnel Affairs:
- Managing contract signing for employees, volunteers, and consultants
- Monitoring staff attendance, leave, and justification requests via the ERP system
- Ensuring the clearance process is completed for departing employees
3- Payroll & Compensation:
- Preparing monthly timesheets according to work schedules
- Ensuring timesheets are signed by relevant employees
- Preparing monthly payroll sheets for employees and volunteers
- Responding to employee inquiries regarding their monthly entitlements
4- Training & Development:
- Assisting in coordinating both in-person and remote training sessions
- Tracking staff attendance in mandatory training sessions
5- Performance Management:
- Facilitating orientation sessions on performance evaluation
- Following up on performance evaluations to ensure timely completion
6- Employee Relations:
- Listening to employee concerns and complaints
- Reporting any unprofessional misconduct by any employee.
- Ensuring all employees have access to HR policies and the Code of Conduct
7- Other Duties:
- Performing any additional tasks assigned within the HR scope of work
Technical knowledge
- University degree or technical institute diploma (specialization: Management, Human Resources, or a related field)
- Skillful in Excel, PowerQuery is mandatory, VBA knowledge is highly preferred
- 1 years of experience in HR field, NGOs experience will be an advantages
- Good command of the English language

SDI is an organization working with vulnerable populations, including children, both directly and indirectly. Thus, SDI has a moral responsibility and a duty to protect children within the population that we serve from both intentional and unintentional harm. SDI understands that all staff needs to be aware of this policy even though many of the staff may never have unaccompanied contact with children or young people through their work. It is not possible to eliminate risk entirely, but we are obliged to develop strategies and mechanisms to reduce the risk.

To the end of meeting with the fundamental values of SDI, this policy is designed to address the behavior of SDI staff, and its collaborators toward the served population and to protect vulnerable populations within the communities served by SDI from any acts of sexual exploitation and abuse which is considered as an element of the accountability that SDI holds towards the served communities.

SDI prohibits SHH, and proved cases of such will be meet with Zero tolerance by SDI management.
To the end of meeting with the fundamental values of SDI, this policy is designed to address the behavior of SDI staff and its collaborators towards one another and to protect staff within the environment of SDI from any acts of sexual harassment and harassment which is considered as an element of the accountability that SDI holds towards its staff.
Safeguarding:
· The position holder is required to commit to SDI’s safeguarding policy, as we will do rigorous background checks to ensure that children are protected from any kind of abuse.
· The position holder is also required to carry out his duties in accordance with SDI anti-harassment policy.
