Educo (member of the ChildFund alliance in Spain) is a global development NGO. We defend the rights of children and promote sustainable social change through improving the conditions of vulnerable populations, especially children. Therefore, our action is based on the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Our three institutional objectives are: education, protection and governance.
We work in Spain and in countries in Africa, America and Asia, through social projects in which more than 900,000 children and 600,000 adults participate to promote fair and equitable societies that guarantee their rights and well-being.
We want a world in which all boys and girls fully enjoy their rights and a dignified life.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS JOB POSITION?
The selected person will be the communicator of the project “Future Free of Violence against Children: Strengthening grassroots civil society organizations through the DAPHNE call” (FULLIVING-DAPHNE).
The objective of the project is “To finance and develop the capacities of Civil Society Organizations (CSO) that work on prevention, care, knowledge generation and advocacy to Eradicate Violence against children and adolescents.” To achieve this, the following activities will be developed: 1) the launch, evaluation and resolution of a call to finance organizations in three lines (Prevention, Research and Advocacy and Care Services), 2) the strengthening of the organizations’ capacities to improve its internal management and addressing violence against children and adolescents and 3) the development of a network between the funded organizations and 4) a communication campaign for the eradication of violence against children.
In this framework, the Communicator of the FULLIVING-DAPHNE project will be the person who will lead the design and execution of the project’s communication strategy.
WHAT TYPE OF PROFESSIONAL ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a person with experience (minimum 3 years) in the design and execution of social communication projects in the field of human rights , preferably in children’s rights.
With experience in communicating sensitive topics such as violence against children and adolescents, women, children with disabilities, migrants, LGTBI… etc.
Experience in generating alliances in the third sector, especially small grassroots organizations.
With the following personal skills:
– Initiative and ability to influence.
– Writing and verbal communication skills.
– Creativity to develop messages and materials.
– Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
-Excellent communication and influence skills to find agreements between actors of different size and nature.
FUNCTIONS
The project communicator will perform the following functions:
Design and implement the project’s communication and visibility plan : where the objectives, target audience, communication channels, key messages, preparation of materials, calendar of activities and monitoring, as well as coordination will be defined. of the graphic line of the project. The plan will include:
1. Website (of the project): coordinate the generation of content.
2. Coordinate the communication part of the “Call for financing”.
3. Follow up on selected projects aimed at raising awareness among the general public about violence against children and breaking stereotypes.
4. Develop/coordinate a communication course (20 hours) for funded entities.
5. Coordinate the joint communication campaign to raise awareness about different types of violence.
6. Make the European Commission and Educo visible.
REQUIREMENTS
-Training at the diploma or university degree level related to social sciences and communication (journalism, audiovisual communication, advertising and public relations, etc.).
– Experience in developing communication campaigns on human rights, with preference on children’s rights and to fight against violence against children and adolescents, women…
– Knowledge of the third sector.
– Relationship with the communication media
– Experience in the development of communication materials.
– Experience in generating alliances with third sector entities, especially small grassroots ones.
– Availability to travel in Spain (20% of the time).
Desirable:
– English.
LOCATION:
Barcelona o Madrid.
CONDITIONS AND DURATION OF THE CONTRACT
Remuneration: according to the organization’s scales.
Type of Contract and Duration: full-time for a total of 36 months, extendable.
