Communications specialist | Washington, DC | 2021 at Chemonics

Chemonics seeks a communications specialist for the anticipated USAID Digital Strategy Implementation Program Activity (DSIP). The program seeks to build the capacity of USAID Missions, Washington Operating Units (OUs), and partners to advance digital initiatives that enhance security and economic prosperity in partner countries, while safeguarding individual rights, freedom of expression, and democratic norms and practices.This position will be based in Washington, DC. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead DSIP’s global communication strategy, including outreach on evolving program priorities and presenting progress towards achievement of DSIP’s goals, objectives, activities, outputs and outcomes
  • Manage the program’s relationship with media/communication vendors. Ensure timely and effective production of strategic documents, quality training materials and other resources for buy-in clients.
  • Ensure timely production of reporting and marketing materials for USAID Washington and buy-in clients (as needed)

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Ten (10) years of experience in communications, preferably in the fields of development, technology, cybersecurity, and/or digitalization
  • Must have a track record in employing emerging communication tools, have experience in multimedia and graphic design and have exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
