The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent humanitarian organization. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the ICRC is mandated to provide protection and assistance to victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence, provides humanitarian aid in emergencies and works to promote respect for international humanitarian law and its integration into national legislation. The Digital Communications Officer provides day-to-day support in the management of ICRC social media and web platforms, monitors performance and supports effective and timely communications planning within the delegation in Port-au-Prince.
Main responsibilities
* In close collaboration with the communications manager, implement the digital communications strategy.
* Manage the digital accounts (Facebook, Twitter) and the delegation web page and act as community manager.
* Analyze the digital environment (presence, influence, opportunities, risks, etc.)
* Ensure the design and development of digital campaigns for the promotion and distribution of communication products that target influencers and digital broadcasters.
* Analyze and track social media performance statistics, write reports and suggest adjustments to the delegation’s engagement strategy.
* Keeps abreast of technological developments and the latest innovations, contributes to the analysis of content trends, new media and technical innovations.
* Train, guide and support employees in the management and feeding of digital platforms and activities; provide them with advice and assistance in their activities.
Knowledge, experience and minimum criteria required:
* Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, international relations, marketing, or a related field of study in the social sciences, preferably with experience and specialization in digital technology (website management, social media platforms, video projects, etc.).
* More than 3 years of experience in a similar field or position.
* Good writing skills.
* Experience in publishing and interacting on social networks (Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, etc.).
* Experience in website administration and knowledge of search engine optimization.
* In-depth knowledge of IT tools for internet publishing (content management systems such as Drupal and/or WordPress) and image processing (Photoshop).
* Excellent public speaking skills and ability to answer technical questions in training settings.
* Knowledge of a graphics software or editing tool such as Sprinklr, Drupal or Canva would be an advantage.
* Perfect command of French and Haitian Creole; good knowledge of English, an asset.
* Availability to work and travel throughout Haiti if necessary and abroad if necessary.
* Dynamic, creative, proactive, flexible and autonomous personality.
* Curiosity about new platforms and methods of communication on social networks.
* Knowledge and strong interest in humanitarian work.
* Rigor and planning and organizational skills.
* Not have any external/personal commitments incompatible with a neutral humanitarian organization.
