Global Fundraising Programme Volunteer At Amnesty International

Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 10 million people who campaign for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. We reach almost every country in the world.

To support this mission, we are looking for applications for a voluntary role supporting our Global Fundraising Programme with the successful delivery of the 2024 Global Fundraising Skillshare event. This event will run from Monday 13th of May to Friday 17th of May in London and fundraisers from across the Amnesty movement globally will attend.

The tasks for this volunteer assignment will involve supporting communication efforts with internal and external stakeholders through in addition to supporting the logistics of the successful event set up, delivery and close down.

Start date of volunteer assignment: 08.04.2024

End date of volunteer assignment: 08.07.2024

Location: London

Volunteer Commitment: Wednesday work in person at the Amnesty International Secretariat office in London between 09:30am to 5:30pm (UK).

You will be required to attend the office on: April (10th, 17th, 24th), May (1st, 8th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 22nd, 29th), June (5th, 12th, 19th, 26th) and July (3rd).

Volunteer positions are unpaid; however, travel and lunch expenses are provided.

ABOUT THE GLOBAL FUNDRAISING PROGRAMME

We are a team of 28 fundraisers and Human rights defenders aiming to raise funds for global human rights work and support Amnesty International (the movements head office) in achieving their fundraising goals.

We are divided in to four teams: Global fundraising support, movement funding, Trusts and Foundations and programme Management.

KEY TASKS

  • Assist the programme with the delivery of the Global Skillshare event on the week of the 13th of May in London. Pre-event and post event logistics and communications.
  • Support the team with their communication channels-emails, teams, website.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with an ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A good knowledge and working experience of communications.
  • Commitment to Amnesty’s mission and an interest in human rights.
  • Prior experience in events and project management is desirable though not essential.

Volunteering in one of the world’s leading human rights organizations can provide valuable experience and following your successful volunteer placement, you may request to receive references. However, please note that volunteering does not lead directly to employment with Amnesty International.
