Head of Programme Support Afghanistan At Norwegian Refugee Council

What we are looking for

NRC is looking for a Head of Programme Support to join the Afghanistan mission. The role holder will be responsible for the development and evolution of NRC Afghanistan’s grant portfolio, be the focal point for project cycle management, ensure a robust Monitoring and Evaluation system, and support management of partnerships and consortia.

What you will do

  • Strategy development, programme forecasting, and funding identification.
  • Grant management and project cycle management processes compliance.
  • Donor submission management, including project proposals and reporting.
  • Quality control of donor applications and reports.
  • Donor monitoring visits.
  • Partnerships identification, including capacity building and compliance initiatives.
  • Consortium Management Unit coordination.
  • Monitoring and evaluation system oversight.

What you will bring

  • Senior grant management experience, with responsibility for a programme, in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Consortia coordination or leadership, or other forms of partnership implementation, experience.
  • Monitoring and evaluation systems, approaches, and accountability mechanisms/frameworks knowledge and expertise.
  • Monitoring and evaluation systems development experience.
  • Donor landscape, priorities, and conditions awareness.
  • Integrated programming exposure.
  • Complex and volatile context exposure.
  • Afghanistan context exposure and knowledge, pertaining to displacement and humanitarian needs will be an added advantage.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal.

What we offer

  • Kabul, Afghanistan duty station.
  • 24-month contract duration.
  • 20% travel, approximately.
