ICT Manager (Computer Project Coordinator) at UNOPS

Principal functions:

The aim is to incorporate an ICT Manager (Computer Project Coordinator) to carry out the project management of the Technological Modernization Plan.

In addition, the selected candidate must be able to independently apply the duties and responsibilities of the success criteria of the projects listed below:

Stakeholder management:

  1. Establish solid working relationships with the focal point designated by the Institute’s Technology Sub-management for the project / s under his / her position, as well as at the level of all parties involved.
  2. Encourage communication and ensure that interested parties are aware of the activities, progress and exceptions of the projects involved with Medical Informatics, with a special focus on the acceptance of the agreed products.

Performance management:

The ICT Manager (Computer Project Coordinator) will be responsible for:

  1. Lead the planning, execution, monitoring and control of the project / s in charge, taking care of their day-to-day operations.
  2. Manage the project / s in their position in an integral way with the other projects of the Technological Modernization component.
  3. Coordinate the technical teams of the project / s under his / her position, whether they are made up of internal UNOPS personnel or third parties or suppliers contracted by UNOPS.
  4. Manage the project / s in his / her position according to the UNOPS methodology.
  5. Ensure project results are delivered within specified project tolerance thresholds for time, cost, quality, scope, risk, and benefits.
  6. Technical advice required by the Project Manager (TIC) or whoever it designates.
  7. Collaborate in the fulfillment of the performance and execution objectives of the organization.
  8. Actively participate in meetings aimed at formulating policies for the use of the Institute’s software, considering good practices in health informatics.
  9. Technical advice to the Program Manager and Project Managers in the preparation of reports related to their area of ​​action.
  10. Manage the acceptance and delivery of work packages.
  11. Monitorear el progreso del proyecto asegurándose de que los paquetes de trabajo se ejecuten correctamente.
  12. Controlar los cambios de proyectos y paquetes de trabajo

Gestión de los conocimientos:

  1. Contribuir a las redes de conocimiento relacionados con Tecnologías de la Información vinculadas al ámbito de la Salud, difundiendo las buenas prácticas en el área de dicha especialidad.

Educación:

  • Se requieren estudios superiores ( Maestría- Phd Doctorate) preferiblemente en Ciencias de la Computación, Ingeniería Informática, Ingeniería de Sistemas, Administración, Gestión de proyectos o carreras afines.
  • Título universitario a nivel de Licenciatura (Bachelor´s Degree) preferiblemente en las áreas mencionadas anteriormente, será considerado en combinación con siete (7) años de experiencia relevante.
  • En caso de no contar con título universitario se considerarán estudios técnicos (Technical/Professional Licence) preferiblemente en Ciencias de la Computación, Ingeniería Informática, Ingeniería de Sistemas, Administración o carreras afines, en combinación con nueve (9) años de experiencia relevante.

Será altamente valorado:

  • Certificación como PMP@ o Prince2.
  • Formación en metodologías ágiles de desarrollo de SW.
  • Formación y/o conocimiento en normas y estándares de TI
  • Formación y/o conocimiento en arquitectura organizacional y/o tecnológica.

Experiencia laboral:

  • Se requiere experiencia de 5 a 9 años (depende del título académico aportado) trabajando en proyectos asociados con TICs, en el rol de gestión y supervisión.

Será un plus contar con:

  • Experiencia trabajando en proyectos de aplicación de arquitectura organizacional y/o tecnológica.
  • Experience in leadership of interdisciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • Experience in software development or implementation projects.
  • Experience in projects in the field of international organizations.

Languages:

  • Spanish is required at a fluent level.
  • Desirable knowledge of English at an intermediate level.
