Opportunity – Research and Content Development Assistant

Save the Children International MNEAEE is calling young professionals to apply for an internship with MENAEE Regional office.

The internship opportunity provides fresh graduates and young professionals with the opportunity to develop themselves in civic sector by getting to know international non-governmental organization (INGO) business environment. With this unique experience, potential talents will gain exposure to humanitarian sector which will allow them to see their potential; they will have the chance to work with and learn from experienced professionals and benefit from enhanced mentoring system and internal training programmes.

The interns will be assigned to work with Programme Development & Quality, Programme Operations. The Interns will be responsible for fulfilling challenging and complex tasks assigned by his/ her reporting line as per the description below `and have the chance to get trained on the job. Internships’ initial duration of 3 months, from April till June 2023 ,which may be extended further on specific circumstances.

Intern responsibility

  • Adolescent & Youth Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing, qualitative research project in Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen and Egypt. The project is led by MENAEE Regional Office with support from a Consultant. The Intern will:
    • Contribute to literature review
    • Contribute to reviewing draft report of findings
    • Ensure appropriate referencing of sources
    • Proofread report of findings
    • Contribute to producing summary and child-friendly summary of findings
    • Translation support
    • Timeframe: – April-June 2023
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health Diploma. The project is led by MENAEE Regional Office in partnership with the American University of Beirut. The intern will:
    • Support review of technical resources (Diploma course contents) produced by AUB
    • Translation support
    • Timeframe: – April-June 2023
  • Other technical content in the area of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, and/or other Health-related topics:
    • Review of technical content
    • Produce summary of technical content
    • Translation support

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • Masters-level student in Public Health, Mental Health
  • Genuine interest and motivation to pursue a career in humanitarian sector;
  • Research experience and research skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in English & Arabic;
  • Good attention to details and to be able to work under stress;
  • Computer literate (including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; especially Word, Excel and Powerpoint and Outlook) and ability to do internet-based research;
  • Strong organisational skills and discretion with confidential information;
  • Ability to work independently and proactively;
  • Proven ability to handle challenging workload;
  • Preferably previous experience (including paid internships) in NGOs or private sector;
