COOPI is looking for an International Activities Support to be placed at the Milan office

COOPI Cooperazione Internazionale is a secular and independent Italian humanitarian organization that fights against all forms of poverty to improve the world. Founded in 1965, today COOPI is present in 33 countries in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean and the Middle East, with both emergency and development projects carried out by expatriate staff, averaging over 270 people per year, and national staff. The main institutional funders are the European Union – ECHO and INTPA – USAID, UN agencies, the Italian Government, local authorities and other European Governments. .

Role Description

The resource, working in close contact with the Area Manager,  the coordination of the relevant countries and the headquarters functions, ensures the quality system for the management of International Activities.  Reference countries: RCA, DRC, Tchad.

Role Responsibilities

Collaborates in the field of International Activities, supporting the management of the indicated countries.

Results: the assignment is aimed at the correct implementation of the actions contained and described in the work program, summarized below by areas of responsibility:

  • Updating and monitoring of country regulations in collaboration with heads of mission
  • Updating of country operational plans in collaboration with heads of mission
  • Updating of country security plans in collaboration with the security advisor and heads of mission
  • Updating communication and visibility plans
  • Checking the information entered in the project database (G Project) and updating it, if necessary
  • Collection, control and updating of data useful for strategic planning
  • Collection, control and updating of data useful for economic and financial planning
  • Monitoring of expatriate staff contract expirations, correct execution of evaluations and renewals
  • Support in the preparation and implementation of training courses for expatriate staff for the countries of competence
  • Control of purchasing procedures for international tenders and indicated situations

Profile wanted

Essentials

  • University / Post-University education, preferably in the field of International Cooperation;
  • Previous work experience of at least 1 year overall, in complex structures;
  • Excellent knowledge of French and good knowledge of English;
  • Excellent ability to define priorities and organize work while meeting pressing deadlines;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with various internal and external interlocutors;
  • Flexibility, listening and confidentiality;
  • Stress resistance;
  • Interest and aptitude for working in an international environment;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Office package;
  • Respect for the values ​​of the Organization;
  • Interest in growing in the role and carrying out missions abroad.

Desirable

  • Previous experience abroad in the field of international cooperation, in management activities (programs, projects, administration and finance)
  • Previous experience with COOPI in one of the missions abroad
