Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Director, Coordinating Office for the Mediterranean and Chief of Mission in Italy and Malta and Representative to the Holy See (CoM), and the direct supervision of the Resource Management Specialist (RMS), the incumbent will be responsible for providing IT support in close coordination with the IT Assistant and in accordance with the IOM policy and procedures.**
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Assist with troubleshooting of computer hardware and software;
- Assist in serving as first level and frontline for helpdesk technical support requests, interact with local and remote users to provide assistance and troubleshooting;
- Provide on-site and telephone support to users;
- Assist in setting up computer workstations;
- Assist in setting up teleconference and video conference meetings;
- Verify and ensure that requests for IT support are properly opened, resolved or escalated in a timely manner, documented and archived;
- Assist in updating the ICT inventory in a timely manner and on a regular basis;
- Any other duty as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education
- High School Diploma, preferably in Informatics and technical subjects, with three years of experience or university degree in Informatics with one year of experience.
Experience
- Previous experience in the IT field and in the use of IT hardware/software.
Skills
- Knowledge of desktop environment, Windows OS and Active Directory services, email;
- Knowledge of networking environment.
Languages
- Fluency in Italian and English (oral and written).
