Created in 1993, ACTED is an international non-governmental organization. It pursues a double mandate for emergency and development responses and intervenes in 40 countries deeply affected by conflicts, natural disasters and / or socio-economic vulnerabilities. 7,000 national employees and 400 international employees collaborate and allow ACTED to implement 500 projects per year with activities reaching more than 20 million beneficiaries in difficult-to-reach areas.

ACTED Mali

Since 2012, ACTED has been mobilized in Mali in response to the complex crisis and the structural and cyclical challenges facing the country, with interventions that combine emergency operations and development programs. The ACTED ( teams today 11 international employees and 160 national employees ) 1 million people in 6 regions of Mali: Ségou, Mopti, Gao, Menaka, Timbuktu and Bamako.

Main roles and responsibilities

The Country Security Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily security management of all ACTED project premises and sites, ensuring permanent monitoring and evaluation of the country’s security situation, by referring to and implementing the technical guides to security management of ACTED and the protocols. He / She will also advise the Country Director and the senior management team on all safety and security issues and provide appropriate training and security support.

Qualifications and skills required

  • At least 2-3 years of field experience in an unstable area; preferably in Africa, Asia or the Middle East;
  • Substantial experience in security procedures and management;
  • Established skills in communication and organization;
  • Ability to train, mobilize and manage national and international teams;
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure;
  • Ability to work in an unstable and changing environment;
  • Be willing to work and live in remote areas under simple conditions;
  • Ability to be creative and independent, in the field and in the office;

Conditions

  • Salary defined by the ACTED salary grid according to the level of studies, expertise, level of security and level of experience: between 3300 € and 4500 € net monthly ( before income taxes )
  • Monthly allowance for living expenses $ 300
  • Guesthouse accommodation and food provided by ACTED
  • Social security, mutual ( MSH ) and repatriation assistance ( SOS International ) supported by ACTED
  • Transport to the mission and return ticket fully covered every 6 months ( to the address specified on the employment contract )
  • Visa fees covered by ACTED
  • R&R every 3 months ( plane ticket covered up to $ 500 + additional allowance of $ 200 )
  • A week of preparation for departure including 3 days of immersion safety training
  • Possibility of having a 30-minute call with a tax consultant
  • Psychological support ( appointment with a professional )
