Here you’re empowered to make a difference in children’s lives by learning, sharing and collaborating to find new ways to solve problems. In this full-time, permanent role, you’ll work as a part of our Pacific regional team, based preferably in the Pacific and / or remotely to help us create lasting change for children everywhere. The Pacific Communications Manager plays an important role in delivering on our vision of a better world for children. Whether it’s commissioning, gathering, creating and sharing high-quality, authentic stories and communication materials that are aligned to Save the Children’s Pacific Regional Strategy or providing technical line suppor t to Country Office Communication Leads as well as some management of freelancers via Country Offices, you’ll be contributing to our commitment to children in Australia, the Pacific and around the world.

You will make a difference by:

· Working with key stakeholders, manage the development of the Pacific Communications Framework aligned with the Pacific Regional Strategy and implement this.

· Engaging with Pacific Communications staff and SCA Marketing team to promote programmatic stories on key external channels, ensuring correct donor attributes and adherence to consent and safeguarding requirements.

· Designing and delivering training on content gathering with particular attention to Save the Children’s stringent Child Safeguarding standards and policies.

· Facilitating community of practice groups, such the Pacific Communications Hub, to support communications staff across the Pacific and impro ve the quality and consistency of our communications products

· Providing high-quality communications products to the media team that support visibility of our Pacific programs.

· Proven experience bringing a strategic lens to the communications function

· At least three years of media or communications production experience or as a journalist, preferably within the humanitari an or government sector.

· Photography and videography skills, including editing.

· Proven ability to identify good stories for a range of platforms including Pacific and international media, social media and supporter communications

· Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including supporting colleagues to succeed.

· Excellent understanding of institutional audiences and their varying messaging and communication needs
