Pathways for Reconciliation website and visual identity development (Service Contract) At European Institute of Peace

Based in Brussels and active in over a dozen countries, the European Institute of Peace (EIP) is an independent organisation working collaboratively with European decision-makers, the parties to the conflict, and those who represent people suffering from insecurity or at risk of violence, as well as the conflict prevention, resolution and mediation community.

We provide practical experience, technical expertise, and policy advice on conflict resolution. We use a variety of tools to help us do this, including analysis, mapping and design of peace processes and agreements, facilitating policy discussions, and proposing practical engagement, for example through inclusive dialogue and mediation support.

We are looking for a company or consultant to produce the Pathways for Reconciliation website and to develop the visual identity within the Peace Practice and Innovation unit (PPI).

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop branding/visual identity guideline (brand assets)
    • Using pre-existing Yemen Pathways for Reconciliation logo to create a PDF document containing an identity guideline. The identity guideline will define colour codes, fonts, templates/brand design elements for social media etc. in Arabic and in English.
    • Creating secondary brand elements based on pre-existing Yemen Pathways for Reconciliation logo.
    • Deliver the draft identity guideline and finalise in accordance with two rounds of feedback from EIP.
  2. Build a website.

a) The website will be designed based on a Sitemap provided by EIP and will have the following ​features:
​ ​- Support for Arabic (Right To Left) and English (Left To Right) languages.
​ ​- A Content Management System (CMS) that can be edited and updated easily by project ​team members using WordPress or Drupal.
​ ​- Optimised for desktop and mobile use (ensuring that both can be easily accessed and ​navigated by users inside Yemen).
​ ​- Link to social media platforms
​ ​- Capacity to host multimedia (photos, infographics, videos).
​ ​-Tracking of visitors to the page and analytics on website traffic.
​ ​- SEO integration.
​ ​- Optimised security measures (SSL certificate, Systems hardening).
​b) The developer will purchase the web domain and host it for a period of 1 year (renewable).​Alternative suggestions can be made.
​c) The developer will allow for two rounds of feedback of a prototype version of the website for ​desktop and mobile and adjust the final version accordingly.
​d) The developer will provide 1 year of technical and maintenance support and ensure weekly backups of website contents and security.

Profile

  • ​Demonstrable prior experience developing multilingual websites (preferably Arabic-English) that are user-friendly, dynamic and modern.
  • Demonstrable prior experience with developing a visual identity for an organisation (preferably civil society organisations).
  • Excellent knowledge of English at a native level (written and verbal).

The Institute offers

  • Consultancy contract from May 2023 to May 2024.
