Project Education Officer – X2 At Orange

General Description of the Organization:

Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating the suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of the conflict-affected population. Since its establishment, Orange has partners directly with affected Syrian populations delivering programs spanning sectors, including humanitarian and development programs, in the Early Recovery and Livelihoods, Food Security and agriculture, Education and Protection, WASH, and Shelter, in addition to long-term impact interventions focusing on the economic empowerment and the local value chains improvements to enable targeted communities to improve their living practices and their sustainable mechanisms. Orange collaborates with a variety of national and international non-governmental organizations, as well as local initiatives, to adopt a community-based approach that leads to improving the response’s impact on the humanitarian crisis and provides sustainable and alternative solutions.

Job Purpose:

The Project Education Officer is responsible for leading and managing educational projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet the organization’s objectives and standards. This individual will work closely with educational institutions, stakeholders, and project teams to develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs and projects. The role demands a proactive approach to enhancing learning outcomes, promoting educational innovation, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. By leveraging expertise in educational theory and practice, project management, and stakeholder engagement, the Project Education Officer will play a crucial role in shaping the educational landscape and making a lasting impact on learners’ lives.

Duties, Objectives, and Competencies:

  • Coordinate field-based interventions in all implementation sites and keep monitoring the implementation according to the approved work plans.
  • Support the project assistants and technical implementation teams in the field.
  • Follow up the process of documenting and archiving the whole papers, documents, and records that came from the schools and other education facilities.
  • Regular visits to the education facilities to make sure that educational activities are going smoothly and correctly.
  • Prepare training materials and full training packages for different topics related to protection and education themes, such as presentations, summaries, videos, etc., with support from the project coordinator and program manager.
  • Lead and arrange for the implementation of awareness sessions.
  • Produce timely internal reporting.
  • Ensure participation of the community in all project phases through appropriate mechanisms.
  • Ensure appropriate coordination with other actors to avoid overlapping activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Child Protection, Education, or social science, etc.
  • Three years of experience engaging in education projects in the Syrian context.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian principles and standards, particularly child protection and safeguarding.
  • Arabic language skills is a must.
  • English language skills is desired.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the geographical context of the areas of implementation.
  • Excellent computer skills.
