Regional Data Analyst for Humanitarian Agency
(National hiring based in Panama City)
GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
The Regional Data Analyst in the field of cooperation with partners of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (The Movement) for the Americas contributes through analysis to the understanding of the needs and priorities that facilitate the development and implementation of the ICRC’s cooperation objectives with the Movement’s partners, aligning with the ICRC’s Institutional Strategy and the Movement’s policies. This position supports the analytical dimension of operational cooperation with the Movement’s partners, bringing greater relevance and coherence to the ICRC’s priorities within the Movement. The Regional Data Analyst oversees data management processes to enable evidence-based decisions and improvements in the areas of data entry, quality, support and analysis.
JOB PROFILE
- 6 to 9 years of professional experience in general.
- 3-5 years of general professional experience in data analysis and/or research in similar roles, including 2 years in an international humanitarian organization (would be an advantage).
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Engineering degree in data science, data analytics, statistics, social sciences, geography, computer science or a related field or any relevant field. (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Fluent in Spanish and advanced English, able to maintain a professional conversation, French is an advantage.
Technical knowledge in:
- Advanced Excel.
- Python, R, SQL or other programming languages;
- BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Information management.
- Storytelling capabilities through visually clear reports and dashboards, both dynamic and static.

MAIN TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the regional cooperation team, using data analysis to inform operations.
- Create reports, dashboards and visualizations that combine quantitative and qualitative methods and produce visual and easy-to-read analysis to provide deep insights into the region’s cooperation activities.
- Conducts ad-hoc research on internally collected data.
- It contributes to the exchange of ideas and methods within the region and with the Movement’s partners.
- Supports the regional cooperation team with priority analysis, advising on data collection methods and contributing to data workflow management.
- Leads the improvement of processes and monitoring tools for development and application in the field of data locality.
- Liaises and coordinates with the Regional Resource Centre in Bogotá on issues and initiatives related to the Movement that facilitate the identity of the ICRC.
- Operational coherence of cooperation with the overall Institutional Strategy
- Review the annual results plans, strategy, objectives and agreements with Movement partners to analyze the context and possibilities for collaboration in key thematic areas.
- Analyzes the coherence of the strategies and priorities of the delegations in relation to the Institutional Strategy.
- Facilitates the documentation of new partnership models that strengthen the ICRC’s collaboration with the Movement’s partners.
Transnational/regional synergies of cooperation
- Identify opportunities to foster transnational synergies between delegations on specific topics.
- Documents good practices in cooperation and coordination with the Movement’s partners.
- Participate and contribute to monitoring regional events.
- Contribute to the Movement’s joint campaigns, training and seminars, field missions and support to missions, etc.
Leadership in cooperation and administrative/financial support
- Contributes to and manages the management of briefing notes from the Regional Movement Affairs Team (RMAT), monitoring, archiving, correspondence and evaluations.
