Regional IT Officer, Asia At Save the Children

The Opportunity

Responsible for providing complete IT support (L1 support) to the users in the Asia Regional Office, Singapore. Also responsible for maintaining the infrastructure in the Singapore regional office including all IT systems, networks, internet connectivity, servers, wireless access points, firewalls, router, switches, etc.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide level 1 support to the regional office staff members and users.
  • Track, follow-up and process the tickets in JIRA or similar Service Desk application assigned for Level 1.
  • Active Directory administration of the Singapore OU which includes account creating, editing and password changes.
  • Implement, maintain and administer servers, network and other peripherals.
  • Configure, install and maintain new desktops, laptops, printers and peripheral devices.
  • Maintain daily and weekly backup update accordingly.
  • Maintain the regional office communication device, video conferencing, etc.
  • Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate
  • Keeping IT Security in place and adhering to the SOP.
  • Provide training to users in the proper use of hardware and software.
  • Provide orientation to new users on existing technology
  • Work closely with Procurement on the identification and selection of all computer equipment for procurement.
  • Maintain relationships with the ISP and external support company
  • Monitor closely the internet connectivity and bandwidth.
  • Reviewing of IT Disaster Recovery Plan and Business Continuity Plan.
  • Building a knowledge base and documentation of work.
  • Able to remote in to help staff who are constantly travelling.
  • Able to fully support remotely by remote access technology.
  • Work closely with the Regional IT team to introduce innovative programs to improve the use of technology in the regional office.
  • Be Emergency Response Ready by attending trainings and to keep inventory and maintenance of Emergency Response equipment such as SAT Phones and BGANs. Possibility of being placed in roster or deployed.
  • Assistance of rollout of projects from the HQ throughout the office. Includes working on implementation and maintenance of globally connected network using Cisco and Fortinet products, O365 Azure/MDM/MFA, rollout of new Save the Children internal applications.
  • Assisting Data Protection Officer in the IT section of PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act) for ARO.

Regional Safety and Security Focal Point for ARO

  • Provide security orientation for incoming or newly appointed SC Staff and visitors
  • Maintain and providing updates to quarterly PDI document
  • Submission of specific safety and security incident reports (online)
  • Maintain safety/security plans for Asia Regional Office
  • Support in maintaining the Asia Crisis management plan for Asia Regional Office
  • Maintain contact list/telephone tree of all staff for use in emergencies
  • Keep abreast of any issues that may impact health, safety and security of staff and visitors in Singapore
  • Undertake reviews of individual security procedures as requested and make recommendations as needed
  • Facilitate relevant security management training – including fire safety and first aid training – for staff.
  • Working with the global safety and security team on the proper utilisation of the global hotel booking tool to ensure vetted and assessed hotels are used for visitors
  • Timely check with the security equipment like fire distinguish, fire smoke alarm, and first aid box.
  • Other duties as assigned
