Salary Range – 1,30,000-1,50,000 BDT

Community Partners International (CPI) is a U.S. based nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities in Asia to meet their essential health, humanitarian and development needs partnering with local organizations. Founded by U.S. doctors in 1998, the organization has grown to serve more than one million people each year. Community Partners International focuses on helping communities affected by conflict, violence, and displacement, in remote and hard-to-reach contexts, and marginalized by poverty and exclusion.

Job Summary: The Research Manager will oversee, manage, and lead research activities for Community Partners International (CPI) in Bangladesh. This role requires collaboration with local teams, CPI’s global Strategic Planning and Learning (SPL) team, and various stakeholders to ensure research efforts are aligned with the organization’s mission and are methodologically rigorous. The Research Manager will be responsible for co-designing and overseeing implementation of research studies, ensuring ethical compliance, managing data collection and analysis, and sharing actionable insights to inform program improvements and policy advocacy.

Responsibilities:

1. Research Leadership and Management

  • Lead the development and execution of CPI’s research agenda in Bangladesh, aligning research priorities with CPI’s strategic goals and local needs.
  • Co-design and oversee high-quality research studies, including needs assessments, baseline and endline evaluations, and impact assessments.
  • Ensure ethical standards are met in all research activities, coordinating with ethical review boards as needed.
  • Managing the budget and grants process for the research projects in Bangladesh.

2. Stakeholder Coordination and Engagement

  • Serve as the main point of contact between CPI’s in-country team, HQ SPL team, and external stakeholders for all research-related activities.
  • Engage and coordinate with government agencies, local partners, academia, and other NGOs to facilitate collaboration, information exchange, and resource-sharing.

3. Data Collection, Analysis, and Reporting

  • Oversee data collection processes, ensuring quality control and adherence to protocols.
  • Analyze research data to generate meaningful insights, trends, and actionable recommendations to enhance CPI’s program effectiveness.
  • Prepare comprehensive research reports, policy briefs, and publications for internal and external audiences.

4. Capacity Building and Team Supervision

  • Mentor and build the capacity of local research team members, providing guidance on research methodologies, ethical practices, and data analysis techniques.
  • Supervise and support the professional development of research assistants, data collectors, and other team members involved in research projects.

5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Integration

  • Work closely with the MEL team to integrate research findings into program design and implementation.
  • Contribute to knowledge management and ensure learning is disseminated across CPI’s projects and shared with relevant stakeholders.

6. Resource Mobilization and Proposal Development

  • Support the development of research proposals, including concept notes, budget proposals, and project plans.
  • Identify potential funding opportunities for research initiatives in alignment with CPI’s mission and objectives.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Education: Master’s degree in public health, social sciences, statistics, economics, development studies, or a related field.
  • Specialized training or certification in research is highly desirable
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in research with a strong track record in leading field-based research projects.
  • Skills: Proven expertise in research design, quantitative and qualitative methodologies, and ethical standards.
  • Strong data analysis skills using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R) and qualitative analysis tools (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in report writing and presenting findings to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and work within complex, resource-limited settings.
  • Knowledge of the sociopolitical and cultural context in Bangladesh is an advantage.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Bangla is highly desirable.
  • Other areas: Experience in mobile data collection and management systems (such as Power BI, SQL databases, etc.) is preferred.
  • Proven ability to design and implement data collection tools, including surveys and participatory research methods
