The French Red Cross (CRF), in collaboration with the Comorian Red Crescent (CRCo), is carrying out several projects in the Union of the Comoros to strengthen the health system and respond to health crises. These initiatives place particular emphasis on gender equality, community health, and resilience to natural disasters.
Strengthening the Health System and Responding to Epidemics
Since 2019, a multi-year healthcare access program has been implemented in the three Comorian islands (Ngazidja, Anjouan, and Mohéli), funded by the French Development Agency (AFD). These actions aim to improve the quality of primary healthcare and promote gender equality. The project focuses on sexual, reproductive, and child health, complementing the work carried out by the Ministry of Health and Solidarity, Expertise France, and other technical and financial partners.
Protection, Gender and Inclusion
Since 2019, the French Red Cross (CRF) and the Regional Coordination Centre (CRCo) have been implementing projects aimed at improving support for Comorian women and young people who are survivors of violence and strengthening their participation in community decisions for their protection and empowerment. These actions are supported by the French Embassy and the European Union Delegation to the Comoros.
Organizational development of the national partner company
The French Red Cross (CRF) has been working in the Comoros since 2000, alongside the Comorian Red Crescent. Both have committed to strengthening their partnership to support the latter’s organizational development. To this end, several audit and capacity-building missions are being conducted.

Under the authority of the head of delegation, the logistics coordinator is responsible for:
- Define the logistics strategy in line with the delegation’s guidelines; ensure its implementation.
- Ensure the coordination of CRF logistical actions with other actors and the CRCR Movement.
- Supervise the logistics team.
- Ensure the application of CRF purchasing and logistics procedures as defined in the MOPI.
- Participate in security monitoring and ensure the implementation of rules related to the security and safety of property, data and people.

- Ensures the coordination of the delegation’s logistics service
- Ensures the purchase and supply of goods, services and works
- Ensures inventory management
- Ensures the organization of transport
- Ensures the management and maintenance of the motorized fleet
- Ensures equipment monitoring
- Manages IT and telecommunications systems
- Ensures the management of infrastructure
- Contributes to safety and security
- Ensures capitalization and reporting
- Ensures monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning
- Participates in identifying the needs and priorities of the national society (NS) partner
- Provides effective and dynamic leadership and management of his team
HIERARCHICAL AND FUNCTIONAL LINKS
- Hierarchical links: Reports to the Head of Delegation; is the hierarchical superior of the team dedicated to logistics coordination
- Functional link: with the logistics contact person at headquarters; is the technical contact person for logistics staff in base/sub-delegation.
- Collaborates internally with the technical and support services at headquarters.
- Collaborates externally with the technical, operational and financial partners of the CRF.

Employment conditions
- Status type : expatriate
- Contract type : Fixed-term contract under French law/end-of-contract bonus paid
- End-of-year bonus : equivalent to a 13th month’s salary, prorated to time worked.
- Per diem : daily per diem that varies depending on the country
- Leave : 5 weeks of paid leave per year and 21 days of compensatory time off – Airfare fully covered by the French Red Cross for travel between home and mission for 6-month leave periods
- Health coverage : CFE + MSH Mutual Insurance (100% coverage) – 75% covered by the CRf
- MedEvac/repatriation insurance : YES
- Other types of insurance : life insurance (death and disability)

Qualifications and experience
Training in logistics (such as Bioforce, degree in logistics) and experience in a similar position.
Required skills and abilities:
- Management skills, ability to train and transmit knowledge.
- Organisation.
- Analytical and synthesis skills.
- Proficiency in purchasing procedures, inventory management and fleet of vehicles.
- Knowledge of the rules of the main funding agencies.
- Cultural adaptation and listening skills.
- Ability to cope with pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, network working (G-Suite/Google Workspace).
- Knowledge or experience within the CRF would be an asset.
LANGUAGES :
- Excellent level of French (spoken and written).
