Presentation of the Red Cross
Present for several decades in both Chad and Cameroon, the French Red Cross (FRC) supports the National Societies of these two countries in their responses to recurring humanitarian crises: food insecurity, malnutrition, health emergencies, population displacement and vulnerable health systems. In a context of regional reorganization, the FRC has chosen to merge its operations within a regional mission “Chad-Cameroon”.
This new structure aims to strengthen the coherence of actions, optimize available resources, and maintain humanitarian commitment to the most vulnerable populations.
The Chameroun mission currently focuses on key themes such as health, nutrition, food security, disaster risk management, and capacity building for partner National Societies.
In this context, the CRf is looking for a Logistics Coordinator , based in N’Djamena, to support the implementation of this transition and ensure the management of logistics functions for the programs and operational teams. This initial contract is for 6 months but may be extended depending on funding.
Later
The Logistics Coordinator of the regional delegation is responsible for developing and implementing an optimal logistics strategy, good logistics management and purchasing of the regional delegation with regard to internal procedures and donor procedures, through: effective management of its teams, support adapted to the programs, and support for the logistics and purchasing of the National Host Societies (NHS) allowing the latter to become autonomous, and to give the CRF a technical assistance role in the implementation of projects.
Under the authority of the head of delegation, the logistics coordinator is responsible for:
MISSION 1: Develop a logistics strategy enabling true optimization of resources and enabling rapid deployment of operations (15%)
- Analyzes the weaknesses of the delegation and proposes appropriate solutions:
- Actively participates, in close collaboration with the compliance officer and the audit officer, in reducing the risks of ineligible expenses and fraud risks.
MISSION 2: Ensure the proper logistical management of the regional delegation (50%)
- Ensures the proper management of purchases and supplies of goods, services and works
- Ensures proper management of the delegation’s stocks
- Ensures the proper organization of goods transport within the delegation
- Ensures the proper management and maintenance of the motorized fleet
- Ensures proper management of equipment
- Ensures the proper management of IT equipment and telecommunications resources
- Ensures proper management of infrastructure
- Supports the HoD in securing property and people on the delegation
MISSION 3 : Ensure the management of the regional delegation’s logistics team, and joint logistics work with the SNHs with the aim of strengthening the capacities of the SNHs and supporting their empowerment (35%)

Candidate profile
Profile
Training in logistics (Bioforce type or bachelor’s level in logistics) and experience in a similar position or minimum 3 years in a field logistics position.

Conditions of employment
- Status type : expatriate
- Type of contract : Fixed-term contract under French law/precarious employment bonus paid at the end of the contract
- End-of-year bonus : equivalent to a 13th month pro rata to the time of presence
- Per diem : daily per diem which varies depending on the country
- Leave : 5 weeks of paid leave/year and 21 days of recovery – Airfare covered 100% by the CRf for home/mission travel for 6-month leave
- Health cover : CFE + Mutuelle MSH (100% covered) – 75% covered by the CRf
- MedEvac/repatriation insurance : YES
- Other insurance : insurance (death-disability)
