CONTEXT :
Currently, the emergency pool is composed of 6 specialists (Area Manager, Logistics Manager, Finance and Human Resources Manager, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Manager, Physical and Functional Rehabilitation Manager, and Water/Food/Shelter Manager), reporting to the pool manager. The emergency pool is part of the Emergency Division, under the direction of the Emergency Director based at the headquarters in Lyon.
The Emergency Division is made up of a team of 5 people dedicated to monitoring, alerting and preparing for emergencies, an emergency manager and a team of 3 people dedicated to large-scale emergency interventions, 7 people in the emergency pool and an assistant for the Division.
JOB OBJECTIVES:
To ensure a relevant, rapid and effective response to acute crises, HI’s Emergency Division is responsible for monitoring, preparing for and responding to natural and man-made disasters.
As part of its emergency response, HI aims to ensure humanitarian monitoring, preparedness and response to natural and man-made disasters, including all members of affected communities.
The Emergency Division may lead certain emergency responses or support the Geographic Division in responding to new disasters, depending on the intensity of the crisis and the capacity of the existing program.
The emergency pool is composed of a team of emergency experts, ready to be deployed within 72 hours. Their role is to:
– Carry out diagnostics and launch new emergency operations on the ground
– Support pre-established programs and teams to respond to new disasters on the ground
– Contribute to learning exercises, technical methodology and guidance, toolkits in coordination with team members from the Emergency Division, Shared Services Divisions and Technical Divisions at Headquarters level.
Reporting to the emergency pool manager and in close coordination with the emergency logistics specialist at headquarters, the emergency logistics manager will be responsible for:
1) Participate in the initial diagnosis and coordinate the deployment and intensification of emergency response operations from a logistical point of view following a humanitarian crisis;
2) Lead and coordinate the logistical deployment in the context of a new program or the opening of a new area/project following a disaster, in accordance with Humanity & Inclusion rules and standards and those of its donors.
3) Contribute to institutional capitalization and participate in the development and updating of Humanity & Inclusion emergency methodologies, procedures, tools and training.
4) Represent and promote the mandate of Humanity & Inclusion in emergency response in your area of expertise;
REQUIRED PROFILE:
• You have solid professional experience (at least 3 years) in the field of emergency interventions;
• You have at least 2 years of experience in a logistics coordination/management or similar position in the field of emergency or post-emergency aid;
• You have experience in team management and representation as well as in developing humanitarian intervention strategies
• You have a good knowledge of emergency funder regulations and processes
• You have a sense of priorities, great organizational skills and autonomy;
•You have the ability to live in a community and accept constraints, to manage your own stress and that of your colleagues;
• You have a very good team spirit, sociability, sense of humor
• You are able to work under pressure and in a volatile security environment
• You have excellent responsiveness and flexibility in all circumstances;
• You have a perfect command of English and French, fluency in Spanish or Arabic is a plus
ACCESSIBILITY OF THE WORKPLACE:
The premises are easily accessible by public transport (bus, metro). Car parking and a bicycle park are also available. Within the building, access ramps and elevators ensure better circulation. All workstations are located in open spaces, but cubicles are available on each floor for working in peace and quiet if necessary. The workspace is very bright.

JOB CONDITIONS:
– 18-month fixed-term contract starting mid-December 2025
