ALIMA promotes and defends fundamental human rights principles. ALIMA has a zero-tolerance policy towards those guilty of gender-based and sexual violence, as well as towards inaction in the face of alleged or proven violence. Protecting those who benefit from and are impacted by our work is our top priority in everything we do. Anyone collaborating with ALIMA commits to:
● Respect the charter, the code of conduct, institutional policies including the policy for protection against abuse of power and gender-based and sexual violence, the policy for the prevention of corruption and fraud;
● Report any violation of policies, documents, framework and procedure to a superior or designated contact person.
HEALTH – INNOVATE – TOGETHER: Since its creation in 2009, ALIMA has treated more than 13 million patients in 15 countries and currently operates in 12 African countries and Haiti. In 2022, we developed 62 humanitarian medical response projects to meet the needs of populations affected by conflict, epidemics, and extreme poverty. All of these projects are carried out in support of national health authorities through nearly 511 health facilities. We work in partnership, particularly with local NGOs, whenever possible to ensure that our patients benefit from expertise, whether at the national level or internationally. Furthermore, to improve the humanitarian response, we conduct operational and clinical research projects, particularly to combat malnutrition and viral hemorrhagic fevers.
OUR PROJECT THEMES: Malnutrition, Sexual and reproductive health including gender-based violence, Primary and secondary health, Pediatrics, Malaria, Epidemics (Hemorrhagic fevers, meningitis, Cholera, Measles, Dengue, COVID-19).
THE ALIMA TEAM: More than 2,000 people currently work for ALIMA. The field teams, working closest to patients, receive support from the coordination teams, generally based in the capital cities of the countries where they operate. These teams are supported by the four desk teams and the emergency and openings team based at the operational headquarters in Dakar, Senegal. The teams in Paris and New York actively work on fundraising and representing ALIMA. The rest of the ALIMA network includes individuals and partner teams working for other organizations such as the medical NGOs BEFEN, ALERTE Santé, SOS Médecins/KEOOGO, and AMCP; the research organizations PACCI and INSERM; the Universities of Bordeaux and Copenhagen; the NGO Solidarités International; and many others.
OUR COUNTRIES OF INTERVENTION: Mali, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Guinea, Sudan, Mauritania, Ethiopia, Haiti.

Level 3: As part of their duties, the incumbent will be required to visit programs and be in contact with children and/or vulnerable adults. Therefore, a criminal record check or a certificate of good conduct will be required. CONTEXT
ALIMA wishes to continue its efforts to mobilize external resources to ensure its development. To this end, the NGO is recruiting a Philanthropy and Major Donors Intern. MISSIONS
Reporting to the Major Donors and Partnerships team in the Paris office (20th arrondissement),
You will assist the Major Donor Relations Manager in deploying the fundraising strategy with major donors, particularly in France and possibly in Europe.
He/She:
● Conducts research and analysis on major donor prospects and networks
philanthropists
● Contributes to the identification and qualification of new prospects in line with the service’s development priorities and the campaign committee’s networks
● Prepare briefing sheets, appointment notes and materials for prospecting and customer loyalty activities
● Participates in updating and improving the quality of data in donor relationship tracking tools
● Contributes to the preparation of fundraising campaigns and communication activities aimed at major donors
● Participates in the preparation of reports, summaries and promotional materials for donors
● Supports the logistical organization of prospecting, loyalty, and fundraising events
Experiences and Skills
- Master’s student (university, IEP, business or communication school) with a specialization in international solidarity, NGO management, Marketing/Communication or project management.
- ● A first experience in an association or a first internship in the international solidarity sector is a real asset.
- ● Proficiency in common office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or the Google suite
- (Docs, Sheets, Slides). Familiarity with CRM or graphic tools (Canva) is appreciated.
- ● Strong sensitivity to humanitarian action and/or medical missions.

Conditions
Contract type: Formal internship agreement (Internship agreement required)
- Duration: 6 months
- Location: Paris 20th arrondissement
- Compensation: Statutory compensation in effect (approximately €4.35/hour, i.e. €650 to €700 net per month depending on the month)
- Benefits: 50% reimbursement of public transport passes (Navigo) + Meal vouchers
