Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant

Job purpose

Working under the supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and the Monitoring and Evaluation Department Manager, the role involves providing practical support and leading monitoring and evaluation activities in accordance with the department’s plan. This includes aligning with organizational standards and procedures, accountability and learning plans, designing program monitoring tools, ensuring effective follow-up on program outputs and outcomes, and contributing to annual monitoring and reporting. The role also entails supporting effective accountability systems and contributing to program learning processes. Furthermore, it requires ensuring that all monitoring and evaluation processes are gender-sensitive and participatory, including photo and documentation.

Main tasks

  1. Monitoring, evaluation, and education:
  • Implementing follow-up and evaluation activities for project activities and events, and attending field activities within project activities, according to the tasks assigned by the department management.
  • Submitting field, daily and monthly reports periodically to the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at the center and the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, in addition to contributing to the preparation of interim and final reports in cooperation with the department management.
  • Contributing to the development and updating of monitoring and evaluation tools, and translating them in a way that ensures they meet the goals and aspirations of the organization and the requirements of the supporters.
  • Contributing to the development and updating of databases and the data management system in collaboration with the team.
  • Conduct audits and data analysis to ensure high-quality data, compile a report with relevant indicator data for each grant, and show the results achieved in comparison with the values ​​planned to be reached in the work plan.
  • Monitoring the overall implementation of the project and providing feedback to the Director of the Monitoring and Evaluation Department.
  • Contributing to the creation of a learning database and ensuring its weekly and periodic updates, stemming from the activities of implemented projects and the activities of the department in general.
  • Providing documentation and sharing key findings from monitoring, evaluation, and other learning activities with the Monitoring and Evaluation Department Manager
  • Collect and save success stories, photos, documents, and files.
  • Participating in the preparation and attendance of meetings and providing updates on learning, achievements and challenges to programs, the organization’s management, the department’s management and other relevant parties.

  • Ensuring access to and sharing of essential information about the services provided to participants using various methods (posters, briefing sessions, banners) in order to ensure that all members of the community have access to sufficient information and the services available correctly.
  • Ensuring the existence of correct and effective complaints channels within the activities implemented directly by the organization or the projects of the organization’s partners, documenting their existence, participation and effectiveness in the field and sending a report of updates to the Director of the Monitoring and Evaluation Department according to the accountability reporting plans determined by the Monitoring and Evaluation Department.
  • Collecting and separating monthly complaints and comments according to the organization’s accountability policies and classifications, according to the project and the information required in the tracking table, recording the data and sending it to the Accountability and Monitoring and Evaluation Manager for analysis and issuance of monthly comments/complaints reports.
  • Participating in meetings related to the accountability department.
  • Any other tasks related to his/her expertise as assigned by his/her direct supervisor or technical director

Qualifications required for the job:

  • University degree in a relevant field
  • At least two years of work experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning within organizations.
  • Knowledge of using relevant electronic programs and applications
  • Knowledge of and strict adherence to data protection and confidentiality policies, and ensuring that data is stored securely, especially survivors’ data.
  • Experience or knowledge of projects in the protection and psychosocial support sector

Required personal skills

  • Analytical and reporting skills.
  • The ability to solve problems in the field with partners, local committees, and participants.
  • Proficiency in Arabic, both spoken and written, as well as proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and other database applications.
  • Experience in carrying out monitoring and evaluation tasks, including survey work, needs assessment, and field observations.
  • Excellent communication skills and understanding of societal sensitivities
  • The ability to prioritize, complete multiple tasks simultaneously, and work collaboratively within the department’s plan.
  • Adherence to the organization’s values ​​and methodology.
