Media Assistant ( Damascus) At Woman Support Association

Background:
Woman Support Association is a humanitarian, developmental, and nongovernmental organization that was established in 2013 and officially registered in Turkey in 2015 and registered inside Syria in 2025.
All projects implemented by the Association in Syria and Turkey aim to build a better life for women and empower them so that they can face problems and challenges in a way that maintains their dignity and respect.

Overall Role:

The Media Assistant supports the planning, creation, and distribution of media content across digital and traditional platforms. This role assists in content production, social media management, and administrative tasks to ensure effective communication and brand consistency.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating and editing content (text, images, video) for social media, websites, and campaigns
  • Preparing media reports for projects (text content, photographs, promotional videos…) and at the end of each project in coordination with the project manager and program management.
  • Filming media and promotional campaigns in coordination with the administration and the Programs Department.
  • Manage and schedule posts across social media platforms and websites
  • Photographing the activities of the projects
  • Support photo and video shoots, including basic editing
  • Maintain media archives and organize digital assets
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners (e.g., designers, agencies, journalists)
  • Assist in drafting press releases and communication materials
  • Assisting in the implementation of technical processes for directing and montage, and solving problems, if they arise.

Disclaimer:

This position may require other responsibilities like travelling outside of Damascus to cover events in other cities

Competencies, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and digital tools
  • Familiarity with content creation and editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite is a plus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks

Preferred Skills

  • Basic photography or videography skills
  • Creative mindset with a willingness to learn

Working Conditions

  • Based in Damascus, with occasional fieldwork depending on assignments
  • May require flexible hours during campaigns or events
