CONTEXT
MdM has been working in the Mesoamerican region for over 30 years and in Mexico since 1994, intervening at different sociopolitical moments, alongside public and civil society organizations, through various healthcare access projects aimed at children, adolescents, women, indigenous peoples, the LGBTI+ community, and migrant and displaced populations.
MdM’s strategy in Mexico currently focuses on the following areas: Migration and Forced Displacement and Sexual and Reproductive Rights/Sexual and Gender-Based Violence. MdM incorporates human rights, gender, and intercultural approaches, coordinating development cooperation actions with humanitarian assistance.
JOB DESCRIPTION
She works under the responsibility of the general coordinator and in collaboration with the mental health and psychosocial support representative at headquarters. She also works closely with the medical coordinator, field coordinators, field health and health promotion teams, the advocacy representative, and the financial and logistical administration team.
Their main responsibilities are:
- Start the implementation of SMAPS activities and ensure the development of the strategic plan
- Promote and ensure the quality and relevance of the mission’s mental health and psychosocial support interventions, practices, and data
- Provide technical advice and support to psychology professionals and field teams in the implementation of mental health and psychosocial support activities
- Design, plan, execute, adapt and monitor the MHPSS activities of the programs
PROFILE
- Professional in psychology, a Master’s in public health will be a plus
- 5 years of experience in the field, in humanitarian action and project management
- Experience in defining and analyzing mental health indicators
- Knowledge of the health system (including organization, levels of care and capabilities, medical, mental health, and psychosocial profiles, national health programs)
- Knowledge of the main international issues in mental health and psychosocial support
- Knowledge and sensitivity of the gender, rights and differential approach
- Good command of Microsoft Word, Excel and the Office suite in general
- Oral and written command of Spanish is essential
- Oral and written command of English and/or French is essential
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Fixed-term contract
- Start date: as soon as possible
- Located in Mexico City with national and international travel (75% of the time)
- Contract duration: 6 months
- Salary: 3,359 euros gross monthly salary in 13 months
- Expatriation bonus (10% gross salary per month)
- Transportation costs, vaccinations and visas covered
- Individual accommodation with a housing subsidy
- 22.5 days of recovery per year
- 5 weeks of annual vacation
- Health insurance (50% covered by MdM and 50% by the employee)
