Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) is a non-profit organisation delivering expert media services in complex and challenging contexts with passion, precision and agility. Through our collaborative work with our partners, we foster transparent, inclusive and fair dialogue supporting resilient societies that thrive.
Across three continents and 15 countries, MiCT facilitates the training of journalists and media producers, programme and content development, radio and film production, magazine and book publishing, media research and monitoring, in addition to supporting the financial viability of our partners.
2. The Program
The MHPSS expert is expected to support the MiCT Critical Voices Fellowship, which is aimed at media professionals from conflict and crisis regions who share a common value in their professional journalistic integrity. The program is currently focused on journalists and media makers from across the globe.
3. Description of the role
To support Fellows who face immediate psychological trauma and mental health issues, MiCT is looking for a MHPSS expert to provide short-notice, ad-hoc psychosocial support sessions online at-risk journalists and associated staff members. In addition the expert should provide the supporting team of up to 15 people with an online, english-language one-day psychological first aid training.
Organisations and individuals are welcome to apply. Applicants are welcome to apply for only one of the above mentioned deliverables. MiCT withholds the right to divide the tasks amongst multiple support providers if required.
4. Application Requirements
Successful applicants should be able to provide proof of the following:
- Proven psychosocial counselling qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of trauma related support preferred
- Experience working with journalists and people in active crisis and conflict regions preferred
- Working knowledge of English is required. Additional languages preferred
