Doctors Without Borders, an international humanitarian medical association created in 1971, provides medical assistance to populations whose lives are threatened: mainly in cases of armed conflict, but also epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters or exclusion from care.
Mission France is looking for a Communication & Advocacy Intern, based in Paris (M/F).
Since December 2017, Mission France has been providing assistance to migrants.
It ensures medical, psychological, legal and social support for people excluded from healthcare and advocates for access to care and protection for vulnerable migrants, particularly unaccompanied minors (UAMs).
Mission France currently has three projects:
– Ile-de-France: the project focuses on the multidisciplinary care (medical, psychological, social and legal) of unaccompanied minors.
– Calais and Dunkirk: the projects are aimed at migrants on the northern coast.
Within the French mission of Médecins Sans Frontières, under the hierarchical responsibility of the Communication and Advocacy Coordinator, he/she participates in the design and implementation of communication (internal and external) and advocacy actions.
Main activities:
- Media and institutional monitoring
- He/she monitors thematic news (migrations, unaccompanied minors, etc.) in the media and on social networks, as well as the positions taken by key political figures and other associations.
- He/she reports to the Communication and Advocacy Coordinator any news that may have an impact on MSF operations and/or the intervention context.
Production of communication and advocacy content:
- He/she participates in the collection, monitoring and analysis of data from the various projects of the mission.
- He/she participates in the development and production of advocacy materials (letters, alert notes, information notes, etc.).
- He/she contributes to the production of communications (articles, photos, press releases, etc.).
- He/she is responsible for proofreading, editing and translating certain publications (French – English / English – French).
- He/she may be required to go into the field to contribute to the collection of testimonies from MSF teams or people being assisted.
- Media Relations
- He/she is in charge of press reviews in support of the Communication and Advocacy Coordinator and their internal distribution.
- He/she participates in the regular updating of journalist files (contacts and requests received).
- He/she may be required to assist the Communication and Advocacy Coordinator during media visits to projects in Ile-de-France, Calais, and Dunkirk.
Reporting :
He/she actively participates in reporting activities on communication and advocacy ( including SITREP), and even on the mission (Annual Report).
- He/she contributes to the production of meeting minutes.
Operations support:
- He/she provides support to the France mission coordinators on operations
- He/she provides support for the organization of internal and external events, the FADS (Field Associative Debates), seminars, and working meetings of the Mission France
- He/she participates in the minutes of coordination meetings and seminars.
Other activities:
- He/she participates in the communication and advocacy briefing for new team members.
- He/she provides support in internal communication for the development of the volunteer network.
Desired profile
Education/Experience:
- Master’s level 2 in Political Science/Communication/Journalism required (Bac+4 or more).
- Prior experience in an NGO would be appreciated.
- Knowledge of migration-related topics is desirable.
SKILLS :
- Good writing skills / Good research, analysis and synthesis skills.
- In-depth knowledge of traditional media and social networks.
- Proficient in Canva, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft SharePoint

Languages : French C2. English B2 minimum.
Status :
- 6-month, full-time internship.
- Mandatory internship agreement.
- Position based in Paris in the 19th arrondissement, Jaurès metro station. Travel to the various projects of the mission is expected, in connection with the different activities of the position.
- No teleworking possible.
Position available : April 8, 2026.
Conditions :
- The hourly bonus ranges from €4.35 to €7.97 gross, depending on the level of education. One meal voucher, with a face value of €12 (60% covered by Doctors Without Borders), is provided per day worked.
- 2 paid days off per month (for internships longer than one month).
- 50% reimbursement of public transport pass
- Reimbursement of a bicycle mileage allowance up to a maximum of €450 per year
